The property

This charming and cosy bungalow rests on a main road in Cahersiveen, County Kerry, with shops and pubs in walking distance and direct access to the closest beach.

6 Carhan Rd has been recently renovated to provide homely accommodation for a couple, small family or group of friends wanting to explore this lively coastal town and the delights of Keryy's Atlantic coast.

Step into the deceptively spacious property to find the large, open-plan living room with a well-designed, thoughfully laid out kitchen, with contemporary cream units and wooden worktops making the most of the space, as well as a range of useful appliances to enable you to cook up delicious meals.

Enjoy meals together as a group at the dining table set for four, as well as making exciting plans for your stay, before retiring to the sitting room and kicking back on the cosy corner sofa as you enjoy watching your favourite shows on the TV.

Throw open the French doors for access to the patio garden, where you can sit out on the furniture with a glass of wine or enjoy an alfresco meal when the sun is shining.

The property has two spacious king-size double bedrooms, both tastefully decorated with neutral hues, bedside tables and storage for your clothes, served by the family bathroom with a walk-in shower, so you can all prepare for the day ahead efficiently.

You are on the main road that provides access to the beach, with a host of shops, restaurants and pubs in touching distance, as well as a host of attractions and day out opportunities.

Visit The Old Barracks Cahersiveen museum, stroll along the River Fertha and hike the Beentee Mountain, offering superb views across Cahersiveen from the summit.

Cahersiveen was once renowned for the salting of Atlantic fish, and its links with the ocean remain string to this day; stroll around the fantastic harbour and marina and perhaps try sailing or fishing for trout and salmon.

There is a great mix of traditional pubs and modern venues, as well as interesting shops selling cratfs and antiques and monthly street fairs where you can pick up fantastic local produce.

Cahersiveen is the principle town of Kerry Dark-Sky Reserve, Ireland's first international Dark Sky Reserve, offering a fantastic opportunity for keen astronomers to enjoy stargazing.

Enjoy days out at one of several sandy beaches, exploring hidden coves and splashing in the sea, and walkers will be pleased to find the Kerry Way, a 200km trail that takes you all the way to Killarney.

Venture out of town and jump on the ferry to Valentia Island and further afield, Great Skellig has a lighthouse and impressive sea crag of Skellig Michael, used in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens film.

There is so much to see and do within easy reach of this wonderful Cahersiveen base.

The lively coastal town of Cahersiveen, birthplace of Daniel O'Connell, is ideally situated aside the River Fertha, at the foot of the Beentee Mountain, in beautiful County Kerry. Renowned in the 1800s for the salting of Atlantic fish, today the town retains strong links with the ocean, boasting an excellent harbour and a superb marina offering sailing, trout and salmon fishing and deep-sea angling opportunities. Cahersiveen provides an eclectic mix of traditional pubs and modern venues, together with a host of cafés (with free WIFI) restaurants and interesting craft and antique shops, whilst monthly street fairs present visitors with an ideal opportunity to peruse the colourful stalls of curiosities and local produce. Cahersiveen is the principle town of the Kerry International Dark Sky Reserve making it a wonderful base for astronomers. Explore the nearby hidden coves, walk the Kerry Way, visit two stone forts, discover the fascinating archaeological remains at nearby Waterville, or take a short drive or ferry crossing to the lovely Valentia Island. Skellig Michael is also well worth a visit, it is one of two impressive sea crags set in the Atlantic Ocean and was also used as the setting for scenes in the Star Wars film, The Force Awakens.
