  • "We had a lovely 2 week stay at Shandrum Brook."

The cottage is very well equipped, cosy, with a great area outside to sit if the weather is nice. It is a few miles outside Charlesville where there are shops and places to eat. It is a great location for visiting other areas. The owners were very easy to contact when we had a small problem when we first arrived. I would recommend - lovely holiday cottage!

  • "Very well equipped, nicely furnished, cosy cottage."

The nearby town of Charleville has restaurants and very good shopping. Unfortunately, the warm water only worked in the upstairs bathroom. We only had cold water in the downstairs bathroom and kitchen. Contacted the owners on their answering machines but they didn't call back. Contacted Sykes via email. Sykes supposedly tried to call back, but my mobile phone showed no call. We were then asked via email to call back, but neither Sykes' message nor their website included a phone number. We decided to come to terms with the situation. However, we were wondering what happens in a real emergency (e.g. lost key) when no one is available.

  • "The property was perfectly adequate if you dined out every evening But needs more cooking equipment, ie trays for heating food, frying pan, Difficult if you wished to dine in."

Cooker not especially adequate . Sometimes after a busy day, more helpful requirements aree needed, Especially with young children. Rubbish bins were left in the sitting area which are an eyesore. And should be outside. Also an accumulation of rubbish was placed outside the Front of the property which was there all week. This was very unsightly. This could be a wonderful holiday home, with a little more insight.
