Knocks Farmhouse provides comfortable accommodation for families and groups of friends wishing to discover this popular and picturesque region.

Upstairs, you will find four simple bedrooms, one of which boasts an en-suite shower room, and outside, children can enjoy playing in the garden whilst you sit back with a refreshing drink on the front patio.

Surrounding the cottage are green fields crossed by countless quiet country lanes just waiting for your discovery, whether you wish to explore them by foot or on bike.

The nearest shop and pub are around a mile away in the small village of Lyre and further afield, the village of Ballinascarty provides superb access to the wonderful attractions of west Cork including Inchydoney Beach, perfect for swimming, sunbathing and sandcastle building!

The vibrant and colourful town of Clonakilty boasts quirky boutiques, traditional pubs and excellent eateries, and is famed for its local black pudding!

Why not spend a day in the town of Kinsale, home to a bay of impressive boats and yachts, and enjoy mouth-watering fish and chips on the harbour after an afternoon of superb water-based activities.

Further afield, a trip to Mizen Head is definitely recommended, encompassing some of West Cork’s most glorious coastal scenery along the way.

Just over four miles from the famous town of Clonakilty, along the main road to West Cork, is the peaceful village of Ballinascarty. The village is home to a local shop and pub and is a wonderful base for touring the region with many of West Cork’s attractions within easy reach including Lisselan Golf Club and estate, the pretty harbour village of Courtmacsherry, and Kinsale, home to excellent cuisine, charming pubs and cafes and a superb selection of water-based activities such as sailing, wind surfing and much more. There are a number of sandy beaches on your doorstep including Inchydoney Beach, one of Ireland’s most beautiful and safest. Why not venture as far as Mizen Head, Ireland’s most southerly point, and visit all the delightful villages and sights along the way? A superb choice for your West Cork holiday.
