  • "Kathleen and Mick were the most wonderful hosts."

My car needed repairs when I arrived and Mick took it away and got everything fixed for me. Everyday Kathleen brought me coal and lit the fire. Cottage is clean and comfortable and the countryside is beautiful. I didn't want to leave !

  • "Ideal spot for touring both Cork and Waterford."

Only 2 hours drive from the ferry at Rosslare. Very good welcome and cottage was very good with garden. Could do with a dishwasher, lack of WiFi but local cafes in Fermoy had free WiFi so it was not a problem. Close to the beach at Youghal.

First impression was this is better than i expected, the cottage was much bigger than i thought it was going to be. The lounge was nicely furnished and comfortable the wood burner was a nice feature and we were glad of it for a few days as it was chilly, we did have central heating of course. The bed rooms were roomy and the beds very comfortable, The kitchen had all you needed for cooking if you wanted to cook, and there was a nice plate of apple pie and huge butterd scones waiting for us on the kitchen table. Toilets and shower was roomy and well equipped, we didn't use the washing machine but was ready to go in the utility area. We came to this area for the fishing and the owners of the cottage helped us find places to go and told us where to get permits. They were lovely people with a great sense of humor. The extra cost for the electricity at the end of the stay came to 40 euro which i thought was very reasonable. Overall the cottage was very high standard and i would totally recommend it.
