  • "Superb setting."

Playground and beach only a short distance which was ideal to keep the kids entertained.

  • "Unlike the review we saw when booking we wouldn’t change the north facing cottage as the views are fantastic."

It’s a great base for touring the area whether walking, fishing or just sightseeing. The cottage is a little dated, coin electric meter €2’s only, double beds are a little smaller than we are used too! We stayed early May and it was a bit cool in the evenings and early mornings but we bought a bag of coal and soon heated the place up.

  • "It was a nice cottage with old (fashioned) furniture and a great view to the bay."

The owners were very friendly and can help if you need them. Unfortunately the cottage was very cold (no sun: north side of the mountain) and the electrical meter is very hungry every day (for this high rental price the electricity und the heating must be in the rent). The electrical heating is too expensive in the winter month and the little stove in the kitchen-livingroom can not heat enough. So we had to buy a lot of wood and coal and we had to stay over the day only in the kitchen-livingroom. The roof was broken in one of the bedrooms. There was a big water stain on the ceiling which has got more and more black mould and everything was smelling after it. Unfortunately we could not swap the cottage because the other ones do not have a stove only a fireplace which can not heat enough. In our opinion the rental price is very high and the situation of the cottage is not equivalent to it! The price has to be put down or much money for renewing is necessary... I am so sorry about this review, but it has to be honestly. Nevertheless we were very thankful to get a payable cottage at november at all. The friendlyness of the owners and the wonderful nature around made it better for us to be happy.

  • "Cottage No 4 has a beautiful view, good parking and good location for visiting scenic spots."

Urgent modernisation is needed of shower facility from the immersion which has very low power/ hot water runs out to an electric shower. Frying pan needs upgrade. The instructions on standard of cleanliness of house on leaving really made me wonder if any cleaning service was available after our departure.

  • "View was fantastic, house is spacious and couldn't fault it on cleanliness."

However, the heater in the main room made a piercing noise when switched on, and the small open fire wasn't enough to heat the room.  We were given a dimplex heater when we complained, but there is only one plug point in the main room, where both the TV and a side lamp are plugged into a 3 way block, so we didn't feel it safe to plug it in. Kitchen area was lovely, but the pans were beyond using, and the electricity meter requiring €2 coins was an unexpected headache.  Would have been happier to pay a slight bit more and be given enough credit and fuel to get us through the first night. Looked like money had been spent recently on a newly fitted kitchen and tiled flooring, so hopefully the refurbishment won't end there.

  • "The image on your site is of cottage 8 and we booked cottage 4."

For your information cottage 8 is on it's own which appealed to us. Cottage 4 actually has a cottage behind looking down on us and also another cottage in front therefore you need to update your images on your site as this is misleading and false advertising. The overall cleanliness was unsatisfactory. Thankfully we brought anti-bacterial wipes with us which we used to clean the dining table surface, coffee table surface and the main touch areas on the leather sofa and chairs, as a result, the wipes where black with dirt. We bought further supplies of wipes locally as they were needed. I received an email and also a text to inform me to clean and tidy the cottage before I left which I did. This makes me wonder if this is how the cottage is left for the next guests. Lamp shades had cobwebs and dead spiders. The back bedroom had something growing high up in the wardrobe and the bottom of the electric heater in the same bedroom had a disgusting amount of cobwebs and dirt hanging out of the bottom, visible when in the bed. We left a day early as we wanted to return to our clean home comforts.
