  • "It was all immaculate and we had a wonderful week with good weather."

As the owner knows the second ‘bathroom’ is a tiny shower room which she cannot improve and should perhaps not be advertised as a bathroom. The scenery is spectacular and the peninsula is gorgeous and the house is beautiful,

  • "A bit of a strange one, owner met us when we arrived and gave us lots of does and don'ts including which bins to put items in,the mattress in the en-suite bedroom is orthopedic, very hard on my bad hips, there are cupboards locked with padlock and chain(like they dont trust anyone),the en-suite needs an upgrade, the shower is from the 1970s and the fan above the shower sounds like a plane taking off, owner lives behind the cottage which makes you feel a bit "watched" and on the morning of checkout, she first of all went through all the bins outside with a fine tooth comb and found some "spanners" in one of them and told my son it is abuse,,we never put spanners in the bin and cannot think of anyone who would bring spanners from the uk,just to dump in someones bin?"

? they were AF spanners when the uk use metric spanners(strange) and i thought 86 euro for 2 weeks electric was extortionate when we never turned the hot water or heating on and was out almost every day from early morning untill 9 or 10 at night,no wifi and about 10 chanels on the tv,not our best stay in ireland and it was soured by being accused of something so trivial.

I am very disappointed to receive this negative feedback. I meet and greet all my guests to introduce them to the house to ensure they have a pleasant stay. This house is a relatively new build and rated as 5 star. I would suggest you look at some of the previous reviews given. Property Owner

  • "A great place to stay."

We turned up to freshly baked cakes and some homemade Jam. The perfect start. Eleanor showed us around and took the time to let us know about the area and gave some top tips. The house was spotless and as described. Plenty of room and with everything that we required. We would stay again.

  • "Caola Nua is a large, wonderful, quality home in an outstanding location, with amazing views and marvellous walks right on the doorstep and a very lovely and helpful owner, who brought me home made bakes (twice!"

). I enjoyed my stay immensely, including cooking in the luxury large oak kitchen while looking at hills and cows on one side and the sea on the other. It cannot get better than this! I would definitely recommend this holiday home - but maybe not in the deepest winter if you are used to a permanently warm house and not used to paying extra for heating and electricity (although I completely understand that that's the way most holiday renting is going).

The house is so comfortable, cozy and clean to a level I've not experienced in any rental before. The host was so welcoming and helpful! Looking forward to visiting again.

  • "Caola Nua was lovely, very quiet, very roomy, and beautiful views over Dunmanus Bay."

There were only the two of us, my husband and myself, but even for six, there would have been plenty of room. Eleanor, the owner, is a lovely lady, very helpful, and her little dog was a frequent visitor during our stay. By the end of our twelve day holiday we felt really at home there, and were sorry to leave. i am a keen photographer, and the Sheep's Head Peninsula was full of stunning views, absolutely perfect for me! The area was very quiet at this time of year, but I understand, even in the summer, it never gets too busy.

  • "We enjoyed a fabulous week staying Caola Nua situated in a beautiful location overlooking the sea."

The house was spacious and every window took advantage of the beautiful views which we couldn’t get enough of. The owner of the house is a lovely lady who made us feel very welcome, she left a home made apple pie and scones with jam to greet us on our arrival. We had daily visits from her little dog who was great company. We couldn’t fault the house or the area and would recommend it to anyone who wants a complete switch off from the world, you can’t help but relax here, we will definitely be back.

The cottage was in an excellent location with beautiful views across the bay. The loop walks on the Sheepshead peninsula were well signed and gave plenty of options.

  • "The best thing was the owner's warm welcome."

She even baked us an Apple pie and scones, and was waiting for us on our arrival. The cottage was in a fabulous location with great sea views and an excellent restaurant nearby as well as a village shop and pub. We appreciated the outside seating and the lovely sun room. Inside everything was immaculate and spacious. We would recommend the area for walking and cycling and for visiting places like Bantry, Ballydehob, and Glengariff. Overall, it was excellent value.
