  • "Issues: We arrived tired at 10 00 pm at night after a long drive and headed straight for the bathrooms only to find there was no handsoap and we had to go back out to buy that."

Most house rentals have at least that. The bed in the on-site bedroom was very creaky and uncomfortable. First morning I showered the power shower went out while I had a head full of shampoo. My husband had to go read the book to find out what was wrong and fix it. Had to empty the dryer water storage and didn't know how. House feels cluttery with all the decorations. I used the iron and ironing board and it ruined my favorite shirt by leaving markings on it. Positives Beautiful location and lots of space.

  • "The property is in a stunning location and ideally situated to explore the many attractions the area has to offer."

We’ve visited Kerry many times over the last 20 years and I think this is the best location we’ve stayed at. The house is very spacious and clean and offers everything a family could want for a comfortable stay. The only issues we encountered were a small electrical fault that caused the RCD to keep tripping and some of the windows were difficult to close and may need attention. Finally though no fault of the owner, the dishwasher was clogged with debris from previous use and needed a good clean and removal of plastic which caused it to leave dishes dirty, once remedied it worked well. On the whole a very nice property which we hope to return to in the future. Many thanks

  • "I was disappointed with the bathrooms, the grouting in the showers was black and that was a shame, I feel it is something easily remedied, with a bit of bleach and that would give a better impression of cleanliness."

Also some of the cupboards in the kitchen needed to be degreased especially over the hob. The kitchen was well equipped except for spoons., only 3 teaspoons and not enough dessert spoons. The info book needs updating, not covid friendly with very old hand written pages, some info was not in book but stuck on wall in utility room, where it was only discovered by us on Thursday. We weren't left any firewood or a welcome pack. The location was fantastic and on the whole we enjoyed our stay, but I feel that the points I have made above should be addressed.

  • "Lovely house, great location."

Unfortunately the bottom oven doesn't work which was difficult when trying to cook for 12 people all at once. Still would recommend.

  • "Doolough Lodge is in a great location with lovely views and yet only 10 mins from the centre of Killarney."

There is a large secure garden and plenty of parking. The house is very comfortable and very well equipped both in the kitchen and throughout the rest of the house. There were 8 of us but could accommodate 12 plus 2 babies. Great for a family gathering. Great base for exploring all of Kerry. WiFi is a great bonus! A visitors book would be a welcome addition, as it's always nice to see what other visitors recommend! Welcome pack was substantial and much appreciated. Eilish was easy to contact and a pleasure to deal with.

  • "This was our second time to stay in Doolough Lodge."

We were celebrating a milestone family event and we needed a house that could accommodate 8 adults and 6 children. This house can cater for a group of that size with no difficulty and we all agreed that it is difficult to imagine how large this house is until you actually see it. But it is not only the size of the house that marks it out as special. It is the quality of the décor and the fixtures and fittings. Everything you would need to cater for a large group is provided. Then there is the location. Breathtaking scenery in a rural location which is still only a short drive to the centre of Killarney. Even closer still is Muckross House and Gardens and Killarney National Park. This is a 5 star property and I would highly recommend it to anyone planning on a trip to the Killarney area.

  • "The cottage is off the main roads, but within a short drive of Killarney and all of the facilities offered there."

In a prime location for walking, climbing, cycling. shopping, sight seeing, fishing, golf and water activities. It was the perfect place for the varied age group we had from 80 to 13. The views from the cottage are beautiful even on those days when the rain obscured the tops of the mountains. While there were 11 of us in the property, due to it's layout, it always felt spacious allowing all to congregate together or to use the other living areas; the images do not reflect the true size of the property. We all enjoyed the time; it was like a home from home for creature comforts, with the outstanding location overlooking views of mountains and lakes. Many thanks

The house itself is beautifully decorated and has all the facilities that are necessary for a family holiday. Besides the 5 large bedrooms there is lots of space for everyone in the living areas. On top of all that there is the quiet location and the beautiful countryside which is visible on all sides. We are going back in 2018 !!!
