  • "Excellent cottage in a lovely setting and within easy reach of many attractions of the beautiful county of Kerry."

The accommodation was clean and had all the amenities needed to make our stay an unforgettable experience. The owners, Phil and Anita, couldn’t have been more pleasant and helpful and certainly added to a wonderful holiday.

  • "Looking to the pictures have we were the opinion that this is a location where we can relax and stay and can enjoy our holidays."

We found a garage that has been converted into a holiday home. The interior is functionally furnished as in the pictures. However I was very disappointed because the entrance I was always smelling a bit of oil because behind the Garage an oil tank was installed. There is no possibility to enjoy the great landscape from the living room. Because the windows were corrugated. Apart from the fact that right in front of the garage is the back entrance of the single family house. When you turned on the water a loud pump started which you can also hear throughout the garage. In other words if I made myself a coffee early I woke everyone in the house. Hoping that the water is drinking water. I have slept on many beds in the world. The beds of this garage are lower standard only. From the picnic area you have no view of the wonderful landscape. You just look at the gray roof of the single family house. The waste water from the kitchen shower and hand basin in the bathroom is not discharged into the sewage system. It is mixed with the rainwater. Thats not okay. The oil tank behind the house does not have a catchment basin. In the event of an accident the oil will pollute the environment. I am convinced that this is not OK in Ireland either. Dear provider if you were to rent such a holiday home I am convinced that you will also be very disappointed. In my opinion the rip off is what you are doing. I will definitely travel to Ireland again but certainly not book here again.

Well situated for exploring the Killarney National Park and surrounding area. The friendlyness of the hosts and the provision of a welcome pack were both much appreciated.

  • "The property was not at all clean and the pictures of the property inside and out were most deceiving."

We did feel comfortable in staying even one night. There was no purpose in phoning Sykes to rectify the matter because you could not have cleaned the property again. Parts of it needed redecorating.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. Your comments are most disappointing as our property has never been reviewed as unclean before. In addition your argument about the pictures being deceiving is without merit. We text and phoned you immediately to discuss and remedy the situation, but we unfortunately did not hear back from you. We feel your assessment of our property to be most unfair and potentially damaging to us in the future. Property Owner

  • "I loved having hot water available for our showers."

It would be helpful for those of us from the states to be aware ahead of time that "European" electric sockets are the standard, so we can plan ahead of time to have the correct adaptors for any of our personal electronics. That is the only thing I can think of that would make things a tad bit easier. Our stay was wonderful with gorgeous views of Irish countryside! If we stay on the western side of Ireland again, we'll be back. Philip was a very responsive and kind host!

  • "Was a great base."

Nice touch with the welcome basket and some basics supplied. Some parts could have been cleaned to a higher standard. Eg some left over litter in bathroom, things left down sofa, kitchen utensil drawer and fridge door not cleaned. Otherwise was very well equipped and pleasant and great surroundings.

  • "The cottage was was modern and well looked after."

We have a toddler and it was totally child friendly and there was no child proofing required as we have had to do previously with older buildings. The area is stunning, right beside Ireland's highest peak. The hosts were very hospitable and had no issue with us charging our electric car.

  • "The cottage was in a beautiful location overlooking the Kerry mountains."

It was clean and the welcome pack was a nice surprise. On the downside the house was not ideal for us as we are a tall family. The light fittings downstairs were low and we had to duck on several occasions to avoid hitting them. As upstairs is dorma with very low ceilings this too was an issue for us. The owners were very nice and helpful. It was good value for money. However, we would not stay there again.

The cottage was warm, clean and had everything we needed. It was a great base for exploring the Killarney area which was looking so beautiful with all the golden autumn trees. Thank you to the hosts - the welcome pack was enjoyed and the brochures read as we planned our day trips. We would definitely stay again.

  • "We truly enjoyed our stay at the cottage."

It had beautiful views of the mountains and country side. It also was very close to the scenic Gap of Dunloe and about 15 minute drive to downtown Killarney. Everything was very clean and it had all our essentials while being very reasonably priced. While the cottage had WiFi it wasn’t quite enough for my husband to work from the cottage all 4 days of our stay, by the last day he had to go to a cafe with WiFi to work which wasn’t too big of a deal for us.
