The property

Ballingeary 3.5 miles.

This well-maintained, cosy studio apartment sits in the heart of a quiet forest, 3.5 miles from the County Cork village of Ballingeary.

Set on the owner’s non-working farm, close to the border of Kerry, this charming apartment has been converted from a hay loft offering a great base for couples to explore the stunning South West of Ireland.

The apartment has steps leading up to a traditional stable door entrance, where you’ll enter into the charming kitchen/diner, with its high peaked ceilings and onto the studio-style bedroom/living area, where a wide window offers views across the surrounding woodlands.

Outside, to the front of the property, there is a small lawned area with tranquil pond.

The village of Ballingeary nestles among the sweeping Shehy Mountains, where you’ll find great hiking and fishing opportunities, and every year it plays host to an agricultural and horticultural show.

A bit further afield is the Killarney National Park with pony and trap rides.

Here in Ireland’s oldest designated parkland, you’ll find its world-famous lakes for relaxed boat trips, an array of tranquil walking routes, along with Muckross House and Gardens.

You can also visit the nearby town of Macroom, with the gateway and tower all that remain of Macroom Castle, or take a trip to Cork City for the day, with a short detour to kiss the Blarney Stone.

A great base for enjoying all that Cork and Kerry have to offer.
