1 Customer Review

  • "Very clean cottage."

‘Quirky’ living room arrangement not very comfortable, seemed very cramped with 2 huge sofas. Master bedroom had an extremely creaky bed. Every time one person moved, the bed would wake the other one up. Crockery was chipped and completely mismatched. Very odd furniture. Only hanging space was in the downstairs master bathroom. Shower upstairs very slow emptying, came close to overflowing. Even with all these little niggles, it was still a nice warm cottage with plenty of hot water and very clean.

Bantry 2 miles.

River Rest is large country cottage nestled in tranquil hills close to the coastal town of Bantry on the Wild Atlantic Way.

A great location from where to explore West Cork and Kerry.

The sitting room is a lovely spot for relaxing together, with the woodburning stove bringing a welcome warmth to the room in the winter months as you enjoy the quirky seating arrangement while the little ones delight in the entertainment provided by the pool table.

The kitchen/diner is a fantastic spot for more formal occasions, with a large dining table with enough room to host the whole group, as well as a sleek breakfast bar, you can all gather together to enjoy a home-cooked meal when you're not exploring the delicious eateries of nearby Bantry.

Make the most of the wonderful appliances at hand when you're dining in, with the country-style kitchen housing a handy electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and even a dishwasher to assist with the washing up, this cottage offers everything you could need for a self-catered stay.

Rest your head in one of four delightful bedrooms to end your day, choosing from either of the ground-floor double bedrooms, one with its own en-suite shower room and the other having Jack-and-Jill access to the family bathroom, these rooms are perfectly suited to those less able.

Up on the first floor sit two family bedrooms, both great for those with little ones, they hold both a double and single bed, and are served by a shower room, providing a bright and airy spot for every member of the family.

Outside you will delight at the large lawn area, taking in the stunning scenery and listening to the relaxing sounds of the stream, before heading out to explore up close.

For those avid anglers, be sure to take a trip to Lough Boffina, a beautiful fishing pier offering beautiful landscapes, or for those seeking to simply relax, roam the coast of Bantry, where you can find a plethora of pubs, restaurants and shops to while away the hours in, accompanied by the wonder of Bantry House, with its rich collection of tapestries, furniture and art, as well as its gardens making a lovely, leisurely stroll.
