It was a quiet place to relax.
Youghal 6 miles.
Located next to the owner’s home in the hills above Youghal, this country cottage is just up the road from the River Blackwater, on the County Waterford/Cork border.
This lovely cottage is a good starting point for couples to explore the delights of both counties, while enjoying each other’s company, on their Irish getaway.
The open plan living, kitchen and dining area is well finished and offers the perfect space for preparing a delicious meal for two.
Afterwards, lie back on the corner sofa which can be pulled out to make a double bed, while you settle in to watch a movie or plan the next day’s adventures before retreating to the comfortable bedroom.
With the sun out, why not go out to the courtyard or garden and sip from a relaxing drink, while enjoying the cool summer’s breeze as the day draws to an end?
One of Cork’s most popular seaside towns, Youghal, is a short jaunt over the border in County Cork.
It lies at the mouth of the Blackwater River, which is great for fishing, and is home to a quaint harbour, 12th century town walls, its sandy beach and plenty of historic charm.
Sample the many pubs, restaurants and cafes available and take a trip to the golf course and work on your swing.
If you’re feeling adventurous why not try your hand at diving or surfing?
Further afield; are the seaside village of Ardmore, Lismore Castle and Dungarvan in County Waterford, or head in the opposite direction and explore Cork City.
