“Location”- Mr Collins, May 2019
“This lovely old house is set up a long metalled road above the owner's own house.”
It has a wonderfully remote and private feel about it and the view from the living room and bedroom windows is very beautiful. The horizon is a ridge ridge leading the the Sugarloaf Mountain. Following the Beara Way to the col of this ridge before the descent to Adrigole and bearing east to the summit is a worthy mountain day out. The Beara Way passes behind the house and can take you down to the lovely little town of Glengarriff or up and onto a number of circular hill walks. The area is stunning, peaceful, and central to exploring the south west from Killarney to Skibbereen, from Mizzen Head to Bray Head! The great jutting peninsulas of the south west are a feast of rock, ocean and wildlife. You can kayak, ride, walk, climb and visit numerous local attractions. The owner of the house is a lovely local gentleman and we were privileged to become acquainted with him. His house was a gem, practical, easy to be in, spacious and warm. The cuckoos (it was May) Ravens, sheep and donkeys were our company during the beautiful sunsets. Thank you Mr C. Ian and Sally, Cornwall.- Mr Maddock, May 2018
“The house is at the end of an 800m long, metalled, track, up the hill.”
It has marvellous views and is well-equipped. We chose it because we could take our dog and because of its convenient location. The owner was very welcoming. It is an old farmhouse which has been fully renovated and has hard floors everywhere. We felt that it needed a bit of money spending on the interior. The beds and seating were old and uncomfortable. Outside it felt tranquil and relaxing.- Ms Elliott, April 2018
“Excellent cottage approx 1/2 mile up drive in the hillside away from anybody else.”
Just donkeys and sheep for company. Great to get away from it all. Can walk from the cottage. Great centre for exploring the Beara peninsula which is wonderfully wild with excellent walks in hills with rivers and waterfalls.- Mrs Guy, August 2017
“The location of the cottage was superb.”
The cottage was perfect. The general area was ideal for our needs, grandparents and a 12 year-old grandson. The local attractions were ideal. The owners were extremely friendly. Overall a perfect holiday despite a bit of bad weather, although, if you can't hack mixed weather don't go to Ireland!- Mr Mills, August 2016
“WE HAD TO CHANGE OUR BOOKING FROM A PROPERTY IN CO.”
CLARE TO THIS PARTICULAR PROPERTY AND DEALING WITH THE UK WAS ABSOLUTELY SEEM-LESS I.E THEY TRANSFERRED THE DEPOSIT FROM ONE TO THE OTHER. THE PHOTOGRAPH DOES NOT REFLECT ITS POSITION IN RELATION TO BREATHTAKING SCENERY AND ITS CONVENIENT PROXIMITY TO GLENGARRIFF. UNDERFLOOR HEATING MADE THIS A VERY COMFORTABLE STAY (ON A PRESET TIMER) AND INSTANT HOT WATER FROM SOLAR PANELS TOGETHER WITH ELECTRIC SHOWER PROVIDED A REAL HOME FROM HOME WHILE LIVING AN AUTHENTIC FARMHOUSE COTTAGE EXPERIENCE. WE BROUGHT OUR ROOTER FOR WIFI AND THERE WAS A VERY GOOD RECEPTION. NO EXTRA BILLS AT THE END OF HOLIDAY I.E. ESB, GAS, WATER AND RUBBLISH DISPOSAL ALL INCLUSIVE IN PRICE.- Mrs Burke, August 2016
“This is a lovely, quiet farmhouse with spectacular views.”- Mr Deasy, June 2016
Booked this cottage through Skye Cottages (who were also very good, and got a big discount on the ferry crossing). The cottage is half way up a hill with stunning views, access is quite steep and twisty but perfectly OK for a family car as the surface is very good. Cottage is very well equipped, underfloor heating , dishwasher etc etc and is in extremely good condition as well as being spotless. Mr and Mrs Cronin are very welcoming. Glengarriff is about 3 miles down the road and Kenmare about 6 - everywhere you go the views are excellent - Highly recommended- martin b, September 2014
“Perfect location, amazing views and perfect hosts, what more could you want for a holiday"”- Mrs Pearson, September 2014
“The location of this cottage is up in the hills with stunning views, the standard of accommodation was excellent, very clean and well equipped, plenty of room for four people.”- Mr Baxter, August 2014
“Very peaceful with excellent friendly hosts.”- Mr Stanley, July 2014

“One of the best holiday homes we have had in Ireland.”
The owners were lovely and so helpful, the place is lovely, the location is just what we were looking for. If you want relaxing this is the place. We will be back again.- Mr Titterton, August 2013
“One can hardly imagine a more beautifully situated cottage.”
The view is amazing and a long hiking path is right by the cottage. The cottage itself is spacious but cosy. Includes fireplace, cats (if you let them in), and donkeys in neighbouring field.- Mr Kwaadgras, September 2012
“After a long journey we were welcomed with open arms and it was gratefully received.”
