  • "This was our first experience renting a cottage and it was wonderful!"

The location was central and allowed day trips to the likes of Kinsale, Midleton, Cliffs of Moher and the Ring of Kerry possible. The owner has heaps of local information and maps for travellers in the cottage. The cottage itself, a converted barn, is rustic and cosy... just what we wanted/needed. The only thing missing (which would have been fabulous) was a bath tub to soak in. The fire place is just beautiful and created a lovely ambience, additional firewood can be purchased at the service station. Electricity is payable direct to the owner and is charged at 20 pence per unit, after 7 nights we owed about 20 pounds.

  • "Tracey, the owner, had to be away when we arrived, but she left delicious scones, jam, butter, and tea for us so we could have a brief respite as soon as we arrived -- very much appreciated after our trip from the USA."

Although she was away, we were met by the "welcoming committee" -- two sweet dogs and two loveable cats. Tracey provided so much advice and printed information about things we could see during our two-week stay -- just wish we had time to do it all. It was so restful staying in The Granary, especially on those Irish days when the rain came and the wind blew. But Tracey even took care of the weather! Except for the last day we had exceptionally good weather, although we did have a little rain and clouds. We can truly say that Tracey and Tom provided a beautiful Irish experience for us. We wish we could return every year!

Although it was "in the middle of nowhere" that was exactly what we were after! The decor and comfort of the cottage was wonderful, the bed was great, the kitchen was very generously stocked, and the couch was positioned in precisely the best spot to warm your toes. Sitting by the gorgeous fire every evening was precisely the best way to end the day!

Myself and my husband booked last minute for a small trip away (Sept 2011) and we were very happy to find the Granary and at a great price. On arrival the greeting we received was very lovely and warm and this continued through our stay. The property is beautiful and the owners very helpful providing plenty of tourist information and local knowledge. We plan to stay again and would recommend it to anyone. This is also the first time we have booked through Sykes and sure will use them again.
