  • "Lovely and spacious house - very nicely decorated."

Very well equipped kitchen, which was very important to us, because we love cooking. The log burner and the open fire was great. Superb views! Hope to come back soon!

  • "The cottage was perfect, just what the family needed after a hectic Christmas."

The host were great and provided plenty of information at the property for local attractions and sight seeing. The house was very clean and had little touches to make it feel like a home from home. Will definitely return.

  • "An extremely comfortable house very well supplied with crockery and cooking utensils."

Warm and plenty of hot water. Enclosed garden and large safe patio. Generous accommodation with several lounge areas so space for everyone to have time together or alone. Large screen tv’s in 2 of the sitting rooms. Open fires plus central heating. Excellent caretaker to resolve any problems. It’s a fabulous house in a very scenic area.

  • "Property as described and was perfect for our visit of 5 adults & 3 kids."

Much more space than we needed with the extra reception rooms but perfect base to explore the coastal roads and everything in between. Short drive into Limavady for shops and a couple of restaurants and activity Centre literally next door where the kids had a great time. Weather was amazing for October which enabled us to sit out the back in the evening and enjoy the swans flying over to the bird sanctuary. Great hosts making sure all was ok and very comfy beds - something you dnt always get with a rental. A very memorable family holiday was had !

Another bathroom would have been great. However not within walking distance of anything, pub, shop etc.

  • "A beautiful clean home, in a peaceful quiet setting close to Roe Valley Park."

A perfect retreat with a private garden and all the amenities inside including a lovely jacuzzi bath in the master suite.

  • "I felt that for a house of its size there were very limited kitchen utensils (large roasting pans, chopping boards, frying pans, fruit bowls etc)."

That said when I asked for some they did buy and deliver some. Towels were light and no bath mats but again they delivered when asked for some. Very over priced for the week and we have stayed in large houses in Scotland that were much better equipped for less money. The location was excellent and the garden was excellent for the dog and nicely enclosed. Bedrooms were great size and beds were comfy. All in all it was fine but just lacked some basics but the contact reacted to my requests politely and with speed so cant complain about that.

  • "Fabulous house, quiet location with stunning views, a short drive to the stunning Benone beach."

Can’t fault anything whatsoever. Our two dogs loved the space and where very much at home. Beautiful touches on arrival with baked goods and treats for the dogs too. We really did not want to come home.

  • "We were blessed with wonderful weather when we stayed, but you'd enjoy staying here any time of year."

A wonderfully spacious home. Plenty of sleep in the beds, and all the things that matter - like good plumbing, a great kitchen and places to stretch out. Outside, the sunsets are stupendous. It's a short drive to a secret and largely empty beach, and plenty of other delights. We'll be back.

  • "The house is excellent value for money."

It's in a quiet peaceful rural location with lovely views allround. We went with another couple and our dog and it was so spacious you could have a downstairs room each. All the bedrooms are large doubles and the beds are very comfy. The kitchen is well equipped with a lovely American style fridge freezer. Limavady is only 4 miles away and has everything we needed. Roe valley country park is a lovely place to spend time. We will return to Northern Ireland and would definitely stop at Sycamore cottage again.

The pictures don t do the house justice, have already recommended to others. Very thoughtful hosts, with welcome cakes for all including the dogs. Everything you need at your disposal. Beaches within a short drive and activities next door. Thank you so much for a relaxing trip

  • "Brilliant house with plenty of room both inside & outside."

Great that they allowed dogs so our 2 miniature schnauzers were able to come with us. Beautiful welcome pack on arrival from a local coffee shop which was enjoyed by all. Milk & juices also in the fridge. Our two dogs were not forgotten as there were 2 padded mats for them to sleep on, a towel, 2 bowls & 2 biscuit bones which were appreciated by both dogs! Area to the back was fenced in & was great for the children & dogs alike. Big patio area with furniture & BBQ supplied so we were able to make use of it too. Brilliant week had by all, would highly recommend.

About the location

LIMAVADY

Coleraine 14 miles; Derry 17 miles

Limavady is a market town in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Limavady and its surrounding settlements derive from Celtic roots, with an estimated date from around 5 CE. The town developed from a small Plantation settlement founded by Sir Thomas Phillips. In 1610 Sir Thomas Phillips was granted 13,100 acres of land at Limavady which included an O’Cahan castle. He commenced the building of the ‘Newtown of Limavady’ which was laid out in a cruciform road pattern. There are plenty of cafes, pubs and restaurants in the local area. There are five activity centres nearby, with fun and games for the whole family, as well as a multitude of leisure centres and museums. Limavady lies in the scenic Roe Valley area and the Roe Valley Country Park on the River Roe lies to the southwest of the town.
