  • "This is the second time I have used this property and I didn't leave a negative review after the first time as I felt the lack of care was due to the busy summer season but instead of improving the overall care based on other negative reviews this property has got worse."

Obviously it is a business and I have no issue with that as long as it is run well but this is not. There were no batteries in the tv remote, no instructions as to use the electral items (including the very technical shower systems). No basic cleaning materials like floor cleaner or scouring pads for the trays. The windows are filthy and there are cobwebs in many places, i.e. the corners of the velux windows. In the bedroom we slept in, there were at least 50 flies in the light bowl in the bathroom. There wasn't even toilet roll in all of the bathrooms! Considering this property is so remote it is not acceptable to arrive and have to go straight out to find batteries! For the amount this property cost, this was definitely not what you would expect and although I would give the property itself a very high score, the maintenance of the property is really poor.

Hi Sue, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. I am sorry you had issues and disappointed you did not contact me at the time. Although rare, minor issues can sometimes occur, however I have both maintenance and cleaning staff on hand whenever there are visitors staying. Although on this occassion it was not reported and I was therefore unable to address any concerns you may have had, I am always grateful to receive feedback and will continue to maintain the high quality our guests have come to expect. • "Property not well cleaned."

No property booklet with general information on local services (Doctors, Dentists etc.) and location. T.V. had Sky notification on BBC 1 which took up half the screen making it difficult to watch, many other channels had "Insert Sky Card" notification which we did not have. Large bathroom jacuzzi bath did not work. Not enough clothes storage in bedrooms. Incorrect postcode on booking information made the property difficult to find

  • "We were very pleased with the property and the grounds surrounding it."

The only issue we had with the property was with the ground floor bathroom door which did not lock and there was a leak from the bath. A downside to the location was that we could not leave the house on foot as it is on a country road, cars travelled at high speed, it was too dangerous to walk with the children and dogs. The nearest shop was approx 2.5/3 miles away. The food at The Village Inn in Kerrykeel was good and reasonably priced. The area is beautiful and there is a beach not too far away. It doesn't take long to get to Fanad lighthouse and seaside towns, Downings and Dunfanaghy. We enjoyed our stay but area is remote.

  • "We had a great stay in wonderful surroundings in a house that comfortably accommodated 8 adults and 6 children."

Plenty of garden space for the children and dogs to run around. Well stocked with cups glasses plates and kitchen utensils. We didn’t get to meet the owner Hugh but spoke to him on the phone and he was more than helpful with any questions that we had. Would definitely recommend this property.

  • "The house and location are lovely and the kitchen has everything you need although there are a few things that need attention on viewing the property on the website the jacuzzi baths caught my eye but they don’t work and when we tried to get the one in the main bathroom to work an awful smell filled the house, the kitchen table top is not secure and the heavy glass top is an accident waiting to happen, handles on some of the doors need fixed as one came off also the grass was not cut for us to use the garden."

For this kind of money for a week id expect things like this to not be an issue. But we did have a good time the house is lovely but these things let it down a bit

Our house was fantastic. It catered wonderfully for our family. House to a high standard, beautifully maintained grounds, kitchen fully equipped with everything we needed. The bedrooms all large and very comfortable. Hugh our host was always on hand and very prompt if we needed him. I would highly recommend this house, a few minutes drive to several small villages/towns and beaches. Easy access to the North of Ireland, which is beautiful too. Thank you

  • "All good things come to those who wait!"

We ( a group of 6 life long gal pals and one dog!) booked our stay at the beginning of the year for a week's adventure in Donegal in mid September. It was epic from start to finish! From our arrival into County Donegal we were overwhelmed by the natural beauty of the area visible at every turn....seascapes, lakes, mountains, national park land, beaches...all within walking or short driving distances from the house. The sun shone for the whole of our stay which was unexpected but very much appreciated, and added to the joy of the trip! Hugh's house was everything advertised and more! Immaculately presented, warm, spacious and airy with lots of space for everyone to hang out together or to just mooch around and quietly relax. The kitchen was very spacious with double sinks and freezers, a wine fridge and lots of equipment/ utensils etc making for easy cooking and entertaining. The bedrooms were a great size and the bathrooms had a variety of spa baths and double showers to enjoy . Lovely lawned garden spaces surround the house, hosting a variety of outdoor eating options - the decking at front of the house in particular was ideal for enjoying a glass of fizz while watching the sun set over the water across from the house. We took the opportunity to see as much of the area as possible and can recommend trips to Fanad Lighthouse ( do the tour- Treasa our guide was very knowledgeable and hilarious), the outstanding beaches at Portsalon and Downings to name a few, wonderful walks in Glenveagh National Park, day tripping in Tory Island and a little retail therapy in Letterkenny. We could have done so much more if we'd had more time - we now actually need a holiday after our holiday in delightful Donegal!

Hi Yvonne, So happy you enjoyed your stay in beautiful Donegal. It is glorious here but esp so when the sun shines. I’m glad our holiday home contributed positively to your stay. Thanks for the amazing feedback! Regards, Hugh Property Owner

.. Kids loved the big garden outside. We had a family get together, loads of space for everyone, nice comfy couches. Your literally 15mins away from so many beautiful beaches (portsalon is fab, downings is a drive on beach) there's, pitch and putt /foot golf close by, rockhill caravan park has area 50 for kids lots to do in there, there's go karting not too far away. Also if you drive to letterkenny there's areana 7 for rainy days/cinema/soft play areas. There's magherabeg Leisure centre 20mins away for swimming. Wildlife park about an hour away! Seriously loads to do with kids, lots of restaurants and bars in Milford which is 15mins drive , and there's a couple of places in kerrykeel too which is closer again about 10 mins drive. There's also horse rides across the beach in the town of Carrigart. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay will definitely be back

Few beaches close by and Milford close enough as well for shops etc which was great. Would highly recommend. The only thing we found difficult at times was there was a lack of essentials such as large baking trays, pots and baking condiments for such a large group. It was just as described and we definitely want to return. It is in a quiet area with breathtaking scenery. Hugh was helpful and friendly when we contacted him with queries. The house is warm, well equipped and the beds are comfy. My only criticism is the house needed a deep clean. It’s obvious it does get cleaned and tidied, but I could tell the bedding on one of the beds hadn't been changed, there were hairs in the shower & crumbs in the cupboards etc. But overall our group of 14 had a relaxing enjoyable experience, and already want to go back.

The property was fantastic, set in the most beautiful location. Beds and living areas all very comfortable. The only issue we had was not having any wardrobes to unpack clothes. But when we were leaving the owner said he hopes to get them in this year. The garden was a big bonus. The space is huge and with the front gate closed, a great area for the kids to run around and explore safely. We enjoyed trips to the lighthouse and Glenveagh National Park, all close by. A great area for cycling too. Would recommend this house to anyone wanting to get away to a beautiful part of Ireland and stay in a warm, comfortable, modern house. The property is set is a huge plot with a big garden for the kids to run about in. It is very tranquil looking out onto the bay and surrounding hills. The house was fabulous and had plenty of space for all the kids/teenagers to do their own thing as well as plenty of bathrooms (which was needed having 5 teenagers although surprised to find teenage boys can take longer in the bathroom than girls :)). The owner Hugh was great with a few small issues we had and sorted everything out right away. Would highly recommend to families and/or group of adults for a week away to chill and relax.
