  • "We had a really lovely stay here in October."

The views are beautiful and the house is spotless throughout. All the bedrooms are well furnished with lots of storage and comfy beds (lots of beds!) and the en-suite bathrooms were great. Plenty of parking and the owners (who live next door) were so generous allowing the children to play on the play equipment and offering them use of the bikes or balls etc. Another great plus point is that we had control of our own central heating. So when we were home for the evening we could pop it on and it warmed up very quickly. Equally if staying in a bit longer in the morning we could boost it for an extra hour or two. All in all this is a beautiful, modern, clean house with all the facilities you need. We definitely hope to return soon.

  • "I used this cottage as a base for hiking and exploring north Donegal for a week."

Perfect location, easy to find, and comfortable with everything exactly as advertised. The owners, Donal and Mary, are very friendly and were a great help on arrival; they were available throughout the week if needed, but weren't obtrusive in any way. In terms of exploring Donegal: Errigal and Muckish mountains and Glenveagh National Park are just 15 minutes away; Horn Head and Ards Forest Park are about 30 minutes away; and even Sliabh Liag in the south-west is just an hour (or so) away. There are also great beaches nearby. Perfect accommodation, highly recommended.

  • "We have just returned from a week at Loch An Iuir lake view cottage ."

The view of the lake from the house is beautiful and we were so lucky to avail of a week of great weather . The house is well placed for touring around the beautiful beaches of West Donegal and there are many fine restaurants within a 10 minute drive of the house . The house itself is very spacious and so well equipped with everything you’ll need to aid a relaxing stay . We travelled with our 2 dogs and they had ample outside space in which to burn off all the energy ! Our hosts , Donal and Mary both went out of their way to ensure that everything was ok for us . They were both very welcoming and friendly and gave us some useful hints in terms of restaurants within the local area . We are already looking forward to returning again . Many thanks , The O’Kane family .

  • "We've just spent August 19th through to August 26th at this property and found it faultless."

Well placed to visit a multitude of must go to towns and attractions. We were an extended family ranging ages from infant to pensioners and we were all delighted with the time spent there. The hosts, Donald and Mary sadly were on holiday themselves for most of our visit, but on meeting them the day before leaving, we found them to be very welcoming and friendly. They had family members meet and greet us on arrival and we had no issues at all with the property, and Mary and Donal provided our young grandson with an Alladins cave of toys and stuff to entertain himself with. Without a doubt they've been the most helpful and obliging hosts we've encountered. Already planning to return next year.

We had a wonderful time in Donegal and the cottage had everything needed for a good time. It was very well equipped; it was very clean and comfortable; it is well situated for visits to the rest of Donegal and very close to the seaside. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a base to roam in Donegal. The owners stay next door and are very helpful, without being in any way, intrusive.

  • "On arrival at the property we were greeted by Mary and Donal, who provided us with a welcome bottle of Prosecco."

They were very friendly and provided us with information and advise on the local area. Our grandchildren thought they had arrived at an activity centre where they were given access to a variety of bikes even providing for the youngest under 2 years, this on top of the slides, swings and climbing frames in the safe and secure garden. We would definitely recommend Loughanure Lakeview for any age particularly families. The adults enjoyed the pier, kayaking, fishing and swimming. To complete our stay there was the local pub, which was just a stones throw away providing outstanding food. ,
