“The house is in a lovely location with views of the sea and the beautiful Donegal countyside.”

There are some lovely walks nearby and easy access to a beach safe for swimming. It is very comfortable, clean and well equipped, with everything you need to self-cater. There is a double bed and single bed so would be suitable for 3 to stay comfortably. We enjoyed staying here very much in this peaceful place.

“The Apartment was great.”

All the cooking Facilities are there. Comfortable bed upstairs with adjoining toilet but if you are 6ft tall (not me) the ceiling in low. Downstairs showeroom is great but the apt could do with a refurb. All very clean and tidy and would stay there again. Def no phone signal or wifi which would be a plus if could be sorted on the rainy days. But i really enjoyed my time there and the people who live round there are very friendly. Great for long walks and so many great places to visit within 20miles of the apt.

“The house could be best described as inverted TARDIS - Cleaner from the outside!”

Especially the bathroom was in a dreadful state: The tiling was so badly made and holey, that an invasion of centipedes came out of the gaps ervery night. Theres was a constant smell of mold and black stains everywhere. Also the shower door hinges were broken. Furthermore the mattresses were very saggy and the sofa stained and dirty. We tried to clean as much as possible by ourselves, but it remained disgusting. Sorry to say that, but it was a very disapointing experience.

“We asked the owner for a bread knife, cheese grater, and potato peeler and these were duely provided - we felt they should have been provided in the first case.”

Fantastic location and we enjoyed the music festival going on in Kilcar in the first week of August- most events were free. Irish language is still very strong in this area. We had to wait 5 days before the top of Slieve League was free of cloud and it was safe to go up the Pilgrim Path. Lower view point is accessible in all weathers.

This property is a great place to get to know this part of Ireland, get to know nature and enjoy a good holiday. We also visited Kilcar and Kilybegs to run along the local roads. The stay was very successful. The host of the facility very nice. We will definitely visit this area.

“Brilliant location and good amenities in the cottage.”

Directions could be improved as quite hard to follow. No welcome whatsoever. Key was under the mat but no instructions about anything in the house. Would have been useful to know what to do re waste disposal, some contact numbers, etc. Lots of random leaflets left by previous occupants. Would have been nice to have had milk in the fridge or at least directions to the nearest shop. There was a lot of random food left in the cupboard- in opened packets and some past the sell by date. Also the shower door and cooker hood were broken . Eventually we found three towels in cupboard under the stairs - one had definitely seen better days! It is hardly a romantic retreat! There are two single beds which need new mattresses and a settee facing the washing machine from which it is very difficult to view the television. It was much smaller than I had imagined considering the price we paid. It is in an ideal spot but with a bit of attention to detail could be so much better. I am surprised that Sykes didn't have a welcome pack as standard. Attention to the outside area would also improve its appeal.

“We have booked two cottages with you, An Nead not great, damp, blocked drains, which we cleared, untidy outside, shower grimey, cleaned by us , it was functional, but I left a list of things in the guest book, that would improve visitors stays, but for minimal outlay.”

It lacked, attention to detail. Previous guests had also made comments. We are on Spiddal Cottage this week, amazing as usual.

Dish washer, washing machine, dryer, so that you do not have to think about the housework ! The whole house was very clean. And of course having breakfast looking at the ocean was unforgettable !

“Wild Atlantic Way”

An Nead is in a beautiful location with a stunning view of Muckross Head. It provides all the basics for two people to spend time exploring the Wild Atlantic Way in beautiful Donegal. The scenery all around is wonderful. Sleive Leag is close by, as is Glencolmcille, Glen Head and many lovely towns and villages. The village of Kilcar is a short distance where you will find a supermarket and pubs with more facilities a short drive away in Killybegs. A car is necessary to get around and take full advantage of the area but if you want to explore the beaches close to the house along with the headland, it is only a short walk from the door.

It is a very peaceful place if you need to get away from the rat race. The scenery in this area is spectacular, best we've seen in Ireland so far. We couldn't believe how reasonably priced this cottage is considering where it is!

“An Nead; an ideal and comfy accommodation for two people.”

Clean and well equipped. At the kitchen table just sit and relax with a superb 180 degree panoramic view across the estuary to Sligo. Deserted sandy beach, with cliffs at each end, below cottage and within in 5 minutes travel, an ideal bird watching spot. Owner friendly. No noisy neighbours. You couldn't ask for more!

“Incredible”

This was a wonderful area! Incredible scenery and beautiful little cottage. My daughter and I stayed at the incredible for 7 days. We loved it. It was a great size for the 2 of us and a wonderful location for exploring. The cottage was very clean and extremely comfortable. We are coming back to Ireland in April and will definately stay here again. Thank you for this incredible week in a beautiful location.

“Breathtaking view”

There was a wasching maschine, a dish washer, TV, two toilets, a heater down- and upstairs, everything one would need. This cottage is modernly furnished, very nice and clean. The view on the sea is breathtaking, the sheeps arround very cosy. What was a bit challenging was to find out how the door was to be closed and how to switch on the TV properly. No instructions were given. The beaches nearby are beauty and colourful.Slieve League is in sight and a fantastic place to see as well.

The velux windows in the bedroom gave a new dimension to bedtime, stars and full moon, no light diffusion to spoil the effect. Appliances top of the range. Friendly neighbours. Ideal for a couple, could have stayed for much longer.
