  • "This was our second visit to this superb holiday home this year."

The home has everything you would need and more, can't think of anything else that you would need. Set in a rural location but still a short distance from town of Rathmullan with plenty of lovely walks. Weather was stormy this time round but this made the open fire all the more welcoming in the evenings. Looking forward to returning again.

  • "Loved staying here."

Surrounded by green, rolling hills, listening to bird song and clucking chickens next door where I could purchase my fresh eggs every day. Short car ride to Kinnegar beach which the dogs loved. The garden was enclosed enough for larger dogs but unfortunately a wiry medium sized or small dog would get through the fence and gate at the front. However this was only a small draw back and we kept our dogs on very long leads when we wanted them to sit outside with us. Tara, the hostess, is a real dog lover and a lovely person to chat to. I will be back again.

As we have stayed in many other NI holiday homes we are using them as a comparison. Having stripped the beds as requested, discovered that the actual quilts were very badly stained from previous use.!! Disappointing,

Tara was so helpful to the putting away our grocery delivery and phoning taxis for us. However, the description that it was 2 minutes drive from Rathmullan was inaccurate. We didn't have a car so were dependant on taxis. it was at least a 12 minutes drive........so around a 45 mins walk

Upon arrival we were greeted by Tara the lovely lady who owns the property and sister lives next door. Nothing was too much trouble and we were shown all the facilities within the cottage. The cottage itself is very spacious with beautiful views and nice big rooms which are all decorated lovely. The living room was very comfortable and having a real fire was a real treat in the evenings when we played games after dinner with the children. A 5 min drive from the cottage is the village of Rathmullan which has a few restaurants and pubs which are reasonably priced and show football. Beachcomber was our favourite. About the location

RATHMULLAN, COUNTY DONEGAL

Letterkenny 15 miles.

Nestled on the shore of Lough Swilly on the Fanad Peninsula, the quaint village of Rathmullan has a colourful history. It was from here that the last of the Celtic chieftains fled Ireland, now known as the Flight of the Earls, and there is an interesting heritage centre in the village commemorating this vital event in Ireland’s history. This sleepy seaside village offers a variety of local shops and pubs and a long sandy beach ideal for lazy days. The Fanad Peninsula is a haven for walkers, hikers and nature enthusiasts, and boasts a stunning coastline. The summer ferry crosses Lough Swilly to Buncrana, opening up Inishowen and beyond, and it’s only a short distance to the town of Letterkenny.
