  • "The cottage offers good value accommodation, although some might find the kitchen in particular, whilst perfectly satisfactory, needs updating."

However this is likely to be reflected in higher prices, so leave 'as is' would be my preference. Traffic noise whilst barely audible except in the master bedroom, can be at certain times quite intrusive there, as vehicles hurtle past at motorway speeds along the straight section of road outside the cottage.

  • "Lovely, spacious and comfortable cottage."

Well situated; very close to small town with supermarkets and restaurants. To be fair, the cottage is not advertised as providing broadband. In all the cottages we have previously stayed in, broadband comes as a standard. This is not provided at Cappacurry and if you are coming from England, this needs to be borne in mind. The cottage is advertised as having an oil fired stove, which can be enjoyed by visitors. However, in the info at the cottage, it asked visitors not to use the stove unless familiar with its workings; it then went on to give detailed instructions on how to operate it. Following that were underlined instructions not to use the stove. This needs to be clarified. We didn't watch the TV, however, it's a very small screen for the size room. On arrival, we were unable to use the kettle as the lid was firmly stuck down with limescale and the kettle was quite full of large pieces of limescale. Fortunately, we were able to prise the lid off, found some limescale remover in the cupboard and descaled the kettle. The cottage was let down by general lack of cleanliness. Overall, however, we had a lovely week. Beautiful views, horses , cattle and sheep around the cottage. Enjoyed the walk along the canal in Balinrobe and wonderful countryside further afield. Thankyou.

  • "We were delighted with this beautiful cottage, and the very warm welcome from the owners, PJ and Sadie."

We stayed there during a cold and extremely windy week in March, but the cottage was so warm and welcoming, it was a pleasure to return each evening to relax and unwind in this amazing home away from home. It must be even more amazing in the summer months. I would highly recommend Cappacurry Lodge for the beauty and peace of the cottage itself, and for the central location of it to one of the most beautiful and scenic regions of Ireland.
