    S and 3 dogs. We went for a quiet time . It was very rural which suited us but was still only about 8km from Ballygar. No wifi was great. Intermittent phone but Wattsapp worked fine. Very clean. Had everything and more. Lovely surroundings to possibly see deer badgers etc. Lots of birds.animals. It is not dog secure but our dogs never ventured away but others might. The only fault we had was the shower in main bathroom was very hard to regulate temperature, I did email the owner about it. I ...

Settled on a quiet road, guests at this Galway cottage can enjoy a variety of gentle walks from the doorstep, whilst the isolated setting is perfect for dreamy nights spent stargazing before retiring inside to the comfort of the open fire.

Also a variety of wildlife can be seen including sika deer, red squirrels, pine martins and a number of birds.

The historic little town of Ballygar is just a short drive away, providing a variety of amenities.

Take a stroll along the riverside, which yields plentiful stock for fishermen, as does the nearby 40 acres of Hollygrove Lake.

Lough Ree also offers a serene setting for anglers, or, why not try the watersports or simply relax on a leisure cruise on the Shannon River to soak up the idyllic surroundings?

Pop into the nearby, delightful village of Athleage for lunch before heading into Roscommon or Athlone for all your shopping needs.

The cosmopolitan city of Galway is just an hour’s drive from your cottage, with winding streets crammed with bars and cafes on every corner and a bohemian culture just waiting to be enjoyed.

Don’t forget the stunning Connemara route to the north west of Galway with meandering roads and breathtaking scenery.

All this before returning to the peace and quiet of your characteristic Galway cottage.
