Further afield, the towns of Cong, with Ashford Castle, and Clonbur, with its many shops and pubs, are just a short drive away and are both well worth a visit.

The imposing Kylemore Abbey is also nearby, steeped in history this 1,000 acre site with lakeshore walks and nature trails is sure to please everyone.

Located on the northern shore of the famous Lough Corrib, the village of Cornamona, County Galway is a popular site among trout and salmon anglers. Situated at the centre of the Joyce Country Mountain and Lake Districts, the village is set in one of the most scenic areas of Ireland. Cornamona is located in a Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking) region, although the friendly locals will be happy to help if English is your mother tongue. On the doorstep of beautiful North Connemara, the Killary Fjord and Renvyle Peninsula, the village is home to a shop, pub and Post Office along with a children's playground. Just a short drive are the towns of Clonbur, which offers a selection of shops and pubs, and the picturesque village of Cong, famed as the location for ‘The Quiet Man’ and home to Ashford Castle.
