Travel the short distance to neighbouring villages of Leenane and Killary Fiord, where the Atlantic has carved a deep inlet between the mountains, and you can take a boat trip there to explore this wonderful place.
Alternatively, a short journey inland from Leenane through the majestic Maumturk Mountains will take you to the stunning village of Cong.
Plan a visit to Kylemore Abbey, run by the Benedictine nuns, with its magnificent walled garden and enchanting lake.
Further afield, to the west, is the Renvyle Peninsula where you can feel the Atlantic breeze on your face on Renvyle beach.
Consider a day trip to the bustling towns of Clifden and Westport, with their many shops, pubs and cafes.
