  • "We had a lovely stay at An Teach Ban."

The house was clean and comfortable. The owner had left fresh milk eggs and biscuits which was lovely. Everything we needed was there and it was lively and homely to come back to. We would definitely love to come back.

  • "An authentic and very comfortable property."

Everything we could possibly need was provided. The cottage was beautiful and as 5 adults we were very comfortable. Owners left cakes, tea and eggs which was a really nice touch.

  • "Another loverly relaxing stay here, the cottage is located in a great location for touring Connemara with the boat to the islands just down the road."

It is perfectly located on the Wild Atlantic Way making it easy to tour the area. The cottage is extremely comfortable and a home from home with the log burning stove been a nice touch. Thank you to the hosts for another loverly stay and look forward to returning in the future.

  • "Loved our stay, kitchen equiped very well and beds comfy."

Loved that the TV had UK channels, and good WiFi! Log burner came in very useful. Only issue was hot water to main bathroom was not very good and electric shower was only lukewarm. Loved the welcome touches too, would definitely recommend to anyone.

It was a lovely mix of old world meets comfort. There was a grocery shop close by which was very convenient and Conall the owner was more than helpful!. We look forward to coming back here again next year. Thanks again from The Kennedys

  • "An Teach Ban is a cosy, quiet and well-equipped cottage, with a lovely garden."

It is well-situated for exploring Galway, Connemara and the Aran islands. We really appreciated the friendly welcome and hospitality of the owner (cakes, eggs, tea and coffee). Some recommendations for good pubs, beaches, walks, or activities in the vicinity would have been nice.

  • "We had a very good stay in this pretty, well-equipped cottage."

The attentions of the owners made us feel welcome: tea, coffee, cakes, cleaning and hygiene products, wood and charcoal for the stove ... ., nothing was missing. We suggest two points of potential improvement: the living room lacks lighting and we preferred to eat in the kitchen (we were only 2 ...) and in our opinion it also lacks 'utensils for cooking (for 2 no problem, but for 8 ...).

  • "An Teach Band was a very comfortable house ."

..one note for potential bookers: most of the pillows are feather pillows. If, like me, you're an asthmatic this can be a problem. I'd not expected this- so didn't alert the owner in advance that I couldn't sleep on feather pillows. However, there were approx.5 pillows that are not filled with feather, so I was able to swap around. We loved the house - it is very well supplied for all your needs. The location suited us very well - we travelled all around Connemara: visited Kylemore Abbey; walked the Inishnee trail near Roundstone; climbed Diamond Hill (there are 3 different levels of route to suit various abilities); went to the Aran Islands (Inishmore); and discovered, and enjoyed, the Marconi/Alcock & Browne trail at Derrigimlagh, near Ballyconneely; took the Killary Boat trip from Leenane: all in all a great holiday, and made all the better by the comfort of coming back to An Teach Bán each evening for a great night's sleep.

  • "We had such a wonderful stay in July at An Teach Ban."

As a family with three kids we couldn't have asked for more. The cottage itself is amazing with everything you could need and alot more besides. From the relaxing show in the en-suite in the mornings to the array of board games in the evening, it was such a great stay. A lovely garden with plenty of room for the odd football and hurling match too! It's in a great location to explore the beauty of Connemara, Galway city and literally 2 mins from the boat that takes you to the Aran Islands. An added bonus with the shop only a few meters away. My only regret is that I didn't book another week...but it's an excuse to go back. A lovely touch from the owners was the homemade jam and biscuits and ice cream when we arrived. After a long drive it was such a great surprise. We can't wait to return to this little gem of the West. Guerin Family July 2021

  • "We spent a week at the Teach Ban and had a brilliant time."

The house is extremely comfortable and well equipped and has good wifi. Our only negative was that we couldn't sit out much as the midges were horrendous no amount of citronella would shift them!! (not the owners fault!!). Plenty of space for our group of adults and the kids loved the rooms upstairs and used them as a chill out zone. Outdoor gardens front and back with plenty of room for football etc. The road can be busy but gates can be closed if you're worried about small children. Rossaveal is perfect for exploring the Connemara area with lots of day trips to the Aran Islands (ferry is at the end of the road), Galway city, Roundstone, Clifden, and Kylemore Abbey. There are many gorgeous beaches close by also and the shop next door has everything you might need - except beer, they were out the day we went in!! A week wasn't long enough for us and we'd love to visit again. Thanks Conall!

  • "We planned 7 nights in Rossaveal in a traditional cottage with near access to shop, ferry and church and reasonable access to selected sites of interest."

The accommodation and location was excellent. We had few expectations re entertainment and dining out. Inishmore and Kylemore Abbey were the best experiences in that regard. Social distance was an issue in specific circumstances. Two foggy days visiting outside the area did not dampen our spirits. We will return DV.!

  • "An Teach Bán is a fantastic cottage."

Immaculately maintained, very well furnished, beds and bedding were delightful. Shower, Bath and toilets were spotless. There was an argument every morning about who was getting the en-suite shower. High quality freshly laundered towels and tea towels for us also made this a real home from home experience. Tea, coffee, milk and freshly made home cooked buns and not forgetting the East Coast Cookies greeted us on our arrival. My youngest daughter especially liked the garden. Plenty of cleaning products at our disposal and sanitising wipes etc provided. A big umbrella which thankfully we didn't need. A laundry basket which we got great use out of. Plenty of cooking equipment, dishes cutlery etc. Games for the kids upstairs too passed an hour before bed. All the little things that made our stay cosy and comfortable. I would highly recommend An Teach Bán for its high standard in accommodation and it's in an ideal location for exploring. We had a truly fantastic week, we holiday in Ireland every year and this cottage was our favourite out of all the ones we have stayed in over the last ten years.

  • "An Teach Bán is a gem."

We had a wonderful holiday here. The cottage is a fab traditional cottage, thick stone walls/ stove etc but with spacious bedrooms and bathrooms facilities. The extra touches of disinfectant wipes and little bottles of hand sanitizer for us on arrival were a nice touch given everything going on at the moment. Located beside the spar shop and a short walk to the ferry terminal for the Aran Islands the cottage was a great base for our trips around around Connemara, as well as short walks on the footpath to the ferry with our small children (footpaths are not common on rural roadsides so it was good to have safe walking routes with smallies during the day). The kids loved the mezzanine area to play and their room was lovely. If you have crawlers or just walking kids a stair gate for the spiral stairs would be useful. This is an old house, so it could be chilly on damp wet days but the stove heated the place very very quickly when we needed it. We had a great holiday and the children want to go back and live there! Would recommend for families or anyone looking for a good base to visit the area.

The cottage is tastefully decorated, full of character and has all the modern comforts you would need. The owner was very kind and helpful. The location is great for touring all the Connemara sights and not far from Salthill and Galway for those inevitable rainy days! The garden and mezzanine were great for our kids aged 5 and 7. I would highly recommend a stay in this cottage.

Unfortunately, it was a bit cold & damp when we arrived, but the owner was there the next day to adjust timer on heating. Also washing machine wouldn't work. Again there was a new washing machine installed within 24hrs. Would recommend this lovely cottage, for a family group, although you do need a car as there is not a lot to do in the area
