  • "Carole was a very attentive host and very responsive to our requests."

The house is very well equipped, the beds comfortable and its location 2 minutes from the port and pubs is perfect. Roundstone is an excellent base for visiting Connemara.

So glad you enjoyed your stay. Was lovely meeting you all .Thank you so much Property Owner

  • "Carol (and her family) was amazing, she couldn't do enough for us."

My daughter is in a wheelchair and she had built us a ramp (we had no idea!) We needed something (that really wasn't her problem to be honest) at ten thirty on a Saturday night and Carol (and her wonderful daughter) went above and beyond to sort it for us. She was always on call for anything at all and we're very grateful we chose her and this house above all others. We really hope to see you again soon.

Was a pleasure Hazel. Would love to see you back any time , thank you so much Property Owner

  • "Owner is an absolute delight as always-this was out fourth visit!"

Lovely location-really spectacular area and very welcoming locals. Only problem is the new bathroom-getting into the bath to use the shower was very difficult because of the very wide surround. A step badly needed! A place to re-visit over and over again!

thanks so much jenny alan and rea .i will definately invest in a step for the bathroom for your next visit ,was a pleasure having you stay again ,delighted you enjoyed your stay many thanks again carole x Property Owner

  • "The property was in a good location to explore the area around the beaches and stunning scenery of the Conemarra hills."

However, the property itself was disappointing and could do with updating .

so sorry you were disappointed with my house . I have recently refurbished bathroom and bedrooms and bought a new electric recliner suite in sitting room.I provide everything you could need everyone that comes are delighted with what is there. I really wish you had told me you had issues and i would most certainly have done my best to fix them for you . Lastly you should have told me you broke my new shower i had to get someone in very quicky to replace the shower head and holder as my other guests were arriving at 4 .I have people coming back to me year after year ,all i can say is the house is 3 star not 5 star and i do my best to accommodate the mostly wonderful people that stay with me .Thank you Carole Property Owner

  • "Lovely location for a quiet break, nice walks and close to lovely beaches, great base from which to explore the area, the cottage had everything, Internet was fantastic, spotlessly clean and most importantly Carole (our hostess) was so helpful and friendly yet completely unobtrusive, a lovely lady."

All in all we would highly recommend Benview to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful break!

  • "Fantastic location, just a short walk from the harbor - Rounstone is stunning!"

Lots to do in the area - we did an e-bike tour, clay shooting lessons, kayaking and hill walking. Just a couple of small niggles with the cottage: there are no heating controls, and it was often very cold. The owner has it set to come on twice a day (from the attached property), and in the colder months that isn’t enough. Also, we could not use the WiFi - we asked for the code a couple of times, but weren’t given the correct one. Carol, the owner, was warm and friendly. If the above two niggles were sorted, I would score higher.

  • "This is the second time that we have visited this cottage and we intend to go back!"

It is a superb location and the owners are friendly and helpful - they seem like friends now! The cottage is well decorated and maintained. Lovely view of mountains from front windows and close to shops, pubs etc. Connemara is absolutely beautiful and we found everyone we met very welcoming! Only disappointment was the lack of controls for the DVD player - it would be good for a new controller to be purchased

  • "There is everything to recommend for this holiday house."

It is in a quiet location, with lovely views, just 5 minutes walk from Roundstone, so very convenient for the local food and craft shops, with no shortage of places to eat out. In the good weather, Roundstone felt cosmopolitan, one could eat outside, all close to the harbour, with amazing views to the mountains of Connemara, and happy people, many young and on bicycles, touring the beautiful coastline. The sandy beaches of Gurteen Beach and Dog's Bay just a few minutes drive away with white sand and sheltered aspect are heavenly. It is also an ideal place for touring further up and around the coast, where there are more wonderful, magical sandy bays, and back through the mountains. And what a lovely house to come back to. Freshly caught fish, and a home baked apple pie arrived by magic in our kitchen, Carole was kindness itself, living unobtrusively next door. The place was spotless, and well equipped, with much pine furniture, and light rooms. A perfect relaxing holiday, my husband and I are both water colour painters, and the sitting room was light enough and large enough for us both to paint. When I left my walking boots behind, Carole posted them to me straight away with only friendly words to say about my forgetfulness!! The house felt loved and we felt very at home and cared for beautifully. Thank you Carole!! We will do our very best to return.

Roundstone, in the Connemara region of County Galway, lies on the western arm of Bertraghboy Bay. The entrance to Roundstone harbour is marked by a large stone, like an upturned bath tub, which is known as seals rock (Chloch na Ron) as seals like to clamber up onto it and bask in the sunshine. Roundstone offers pubs, restaurants, cafés, shops and a children’s playground, plus there is a traditional Irish night in the summer and a number of festivals which take place throughout the year. Roundstone is full of historical and geographical points of interest, including the bell tower of the Franciscan Monastery, now standing in the Michael Killeen Park, and the remains of a monument to St Brendan on Inishnee, a small island in Roundstone Bay. A five-minute drive away are Gurteen and Dog's Bay beaches, plus attractions in the area include horse riding, deep sea fishing, hill walking and cycling. Just eight miles from Roundstone is the Connemara Golf Club and further afield there is great scenery to enjoy either on foot, bicycle or in the car.
