The property

Ballinskelligs 4 miles. Overlooking St Finian's Bay and located just 4 miles from the popular seaside village of Ballinskelligs, County Kerry is this pretty, detached, holiday cottage.

Set across one floor and offering basic but comfortable accommodation, the highlight of this Ballinskelligs cottage is undoubtedly the panoramic sea views that can be enjoyed to the front while lounging in the sunny, south-facing garden.

The three bedrooms at this Ballinskelligs cottage include two twin rooms, representing perfect sleeping accommodation for a family group, or small gathering of friends.

Hikers can enjoy hillwalking from the doorstep, while the spectacular Skellig Rocks, which can be viewed in the distance, are home to a 7th century monastery and can be reached by a short, invigorating boat ride - a must see for visitors to the area.

Sea fishing can be enjoyed locally, while there is a selection of golf courses nearby, most notably the Waterville Golf Links.

The Blue Flag beach at Ballinskelligs is always popular with families, and young visitors can take advantage of the playground just a stone's throw away.

The cottage is also just half a mile from the local beach and a chocolate factory!

The wonderful scenic drives of the Skellig Ring and the more famous Ring of Kerry are easily accessible, making this Ballinskelligs cottage a wonderful base from which to explore this beautiful region of Ireland.

Located on the magnificent Skellig Ring between Waterville and Valentia Island, on the forthcoming Wild Atlantic Way, with wild rugged coastlines, scattered islands, vast mountains and high passes, the seaside area of Ballinskelligs sits on the attractive Ballinskelligs Bay and is an Irish-speaking area with a unique history and culture. Once the land base for the monks of Skellig Michael, the surrounding area has numerous prehistoric and early Christian ruins along its shores. The area is renowned for its miles of golden beaches and turquoise waters and offers excellent swimming and watersports on the Blue Flag beach, along with boat trips to the Skelligs, walking in the Ballinskellig/Bolus Head Loop and cycling. A visit to the Skelligs Chocolate Factory is a must! There are plenty of world class golf courses nearby, Waterville has an 18-hole championship golf course, just nine miles away, there's also Dooks Golf Links at Glenbeigh, and those at Killarney and Tralee.
