  • Mr Doherty

“The house was charming and very clean and the grounds were beautifully kept with a small closed in area which is handy when your travelling with young kids.”

Bridget and John are also very welcoming.

The property

Kilkenny 7.5 miles.

This delightful, detached farmhouse is situated next to the owner’s home and working farm, near the hamlet of Kilmanagh and just a few miles from the city of Kilkenny.

This charming 19th century farmhouse has been tastefully renovated from its original purpose and now offers a stylish and welcoming home-from-home for families and friends wishing to spend time amongst Kilkenny’s glorious countryside.

Boasting a spacious layout, the cottage comprises a charming fitted kitchen with sociable breakfast area for casual dining and a separate formal dining room for more special occasions.

The cosy sitting room invites you to curl up and relax beside the open fire and enjoy a glass of wine or a hot cup of cocoa after a long day spent exploring the surrounding scenery.

Three character bedrooms, a first floor shower room and a traditional, ground floor bathroom complete the accommodation, each finished to a high standard.

To the front of the cottage is a picturesque courtyard with furniture where you can dine alfresco as the kids play basketball in the courtyard.

There is even a games room where guests of all ages can unwind over a game of pool or darts!

The area of Kilmanagh is located just 7 miles from Kilkenny City, and is in the heart of the countryside, surrounded by rolling farmland and stunning views.

The area is ideal for walkers with Ballykeeffe Wood and Nature Reserve on your doorstep, and for something a little bit different, why not spend an evening at the Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre, Kilkenny’s only outdoor auditorium, which showcases a variety of live entertainment throughout the year?

The medieval city of Kilkenny offers a variety of attractions including the impressive castle and St. Canices Cathedral, Ireland’s only reptile zoo, and the real ale Smithwick’s Experience to name a few!

A true home away from home and a superb touring base; you might not want to leave!
