  • "A lovely relaxing holiday in the middle of the countryside."

Comfortable and spacious bedrooms with jacuzzi baths. Friendly owners living across the road keeping the property and hot tub in good working conditions and the cows make for great background photo shots. Electric is paid for at the end of your holiday by taking the meter readings, which cost an extra 64 euros.

Several good restaurants locally particularly Roscrea golf club ( open to non members). Good Wi-Fi. Friendly owner.

Its a great house with a great host who couldn't do enough for us.

  • "Everything was OK, furnishings are a little tired (watch how you sit on sofas you will bang your head on carved wood) and the cottage could really do with a TV downstairs but biggest shock of all was the amount charged extra for Electricity and Oil having read other reviews we where not duly concerned and having a 4 bedroom house to run ourselves we where conscious of lights and appliances also the time of year we where renting, the Hot tub did not Heat up for 2 days due to a problem with filters so we had use of it for 5 days on the check-out day Gerrad informed us the cost of Electric and Oil was nearly 200 euro which we thought was a huge amount it worked out more than a third extra on the rental cost obviously we could not dispute this and he took it out of the 200 euro deposit we left he returned 2 euro to us."

I have to say we did feel a little deflated and soured what otherwise had been a lovely enjoyable stay.

  • "Absolutely wonderful cottage."

Looks quite small from the outside, but looks can be deceiving! Can’t fault anything. Stayed here to reunite the family for my Gran’s 80th birthday. Plenty of space for everyone without feeling crowded. Hallways are technically the lounges, but we spent little time here, as we were usually socialising in the kitchen or in the garden. Enclosed gardens were a bonus with three aged under 5 and a dog with us. Only had one issue with the kettle, which was very promptly resolved by the owner. The owner was also friendly. Would absolutely stay here again!

This cottage had broken toilet seats door handles hanging off was not clean asked for a bond of 200 euros as soon as we arrived they was a charge of 88 euros for oil and hot tub which was used just 3 times This cottage is not a luxury cottage The photos make things look better big let down when we arrived

  • "Beautiful and spacious cottage."

We had 10 in our party. 5 adults and 5 children aged 10-15yrs and we all enjoyed ourselves. Hot tub on Christmas day went down a treat! Well equiped kitchen and utility area. Downstairs seating area with open fire, a lovely chillout space for us adults to read and chat whilst the children enjoyed the upstairs seating area with the tv and freeview, a variety of games and quizzes were also provided. Wifi was an unexpected added bonus although at times when all 10 of us were trying to connect it as expected would freeze. Lovely enclosed rear garden space and a very large driveway and front garden. The owners were a lovely, friendly couple who were helpful and welcoming. We had a 17 seater minibus which made going into the town difficult as its very small but had a nice range of shops. Would recommend Aldi for shopping as much cheaper than the tesco. Would defiantly recommend and would happily rebook.

  • "The owners who lived just opposite the cottage where friendly and available if and when needed."

The cottage is easily located off the main route from Dublin, a real hidden gem. Roscrea a town that offers all you would need is literally 5 minutes drive away. We loved walking in the forest just over the road from the cottage, as did our dog. For dog owners the back garden is secure for your pets. The cottage itself has spacious bedrooms, myself and my husband had our best nights sleep in the large comfortable bed. It is well equipped and you would want for nothing from the kitchen and good to see a table big enough for the amount of people staying in the cottage. At first I found the location of the tv area a little strange, but soon grew to love the lay out. If I could say one thing... Take a radio for downstairs if you like to have a little noise. We will be returning

It's clear they have put a lot of thought into Kyle Cottage. The hot tub is a great addition to the cottage and our children say this was the activity they enjoyed most throughout the whole holiday!
