The house had so many useful things eg soap in every bathroom, dishwasher tablets, lots of towels, plenty of space and lovely outdoor area. Its location is great with plenty to see and do. We would love to stay again and would recommend this house and lovely hosts.

  • "Great property , loads of space, great gardens and lovely host."

Absolutely loved our stay, lots of room for the 8 of us. Enough space for everyone to relax or play without getting in anyone’s way. Only 15 mins away from shops, and a little longer to main towns or days out . Look forward to staying again

  • "The property was well equipped for a large family, the house was beautiful in a lovely quiet and peaceful setting."

The hosts were very welcoming and helpful with any questions we may have had, also phoning us after arrival home to ensure we had a good time. On the website there were three check-in times which were confusing though !!

  • "Liz and Bernard are outstanding hosts, with a lovely welcome."

Everything was perfect and in a good location to loughkey.ie and Boyle. Dunmoran strand was only 40 mins away and by far and excellent beach. The local park in keash was good for the children, every night we went. The house it's self is great from being spacious indoors and out, the patio outside was great for lunches and dinner as the weather was perfect. I'm looking forward to our return to Ivy House. Thankyou Liz and Bernard. July 2021.

  • "Lovely big cottage in beautiful setting."

Bernard and Elizabeth (the owners) were brilliant and very helpful. There is plenty of space for children to play and not overlooked except for a cow in the field nearby!! Would thoughtly recommend for a quiet holiday away from it all. Nearest towns for food shopping and banks with ATM were approx. 5 to 6 miles away. Supermarkets were stocked very well and had everything you needed. The is a lovely waterfall with adequate parking next to a large lake and a good little cafe for lunch and drinks. The drive from Dublin is around 2 hours and nearest airport is Knock which is around 35 to 40 mins with hire car facilities.

  • "Ivy cottage is a fantastic large house with everything you need and more."

The owners went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The house is very clean and well furnished. While it is in the country it is only 2.5 miles from the N4 which provided easy access to Sligo town, Carrick on Shannon, Boyle etc. There is plenty to see and do in the area. Mr and Mrs Dwyer exemplify all that is great about Irish hospitality and I would be very happy to recommend this beautiful house. We enjoyed a family reunion, consisting of 9 adults. We were all very comfortable in Ivy House and will always have very happy memories of our stay in Ivy House.

  • "Ivy House is a great holiday location and had all the facilities you need for modern day living."

It easily facilitated our party of 10 (4 adults and 6 kids). The owners were lovely and greeted us on arrival and helped us settle in well. They provided a local map of all the nearby attractions and we had plenty of activities to keep 4 adults and 6 children happily occupied all week. In the evening time we had BBQ's outside the back of the house overlooking their big garden where the kids played. The house has 2 big livings rooms with TV's, so plenty of recreational space. All-in-all, a lovely modern big clean house, in a great location with plenty of nearby attractions. I would definitely recommend Ivy House for your perfect family holiday!

  • "Hi Sykes My family just returned from our holiday at the Ivy House Sligo."

we had a fantastic time the weather was mixed but good and my family had a fantastic time at this lovely house. Elizabeth (Liz) was great as a host and showed us the whole house and all its facilities upon our arrival. The house was fantastic with lots of space which is important to me as I have seven children so for the party of nine which I have, we had lots of space to move about. One of the things we loved about the house was the front garden and the grandeur drive way and also the great view of the mountain. The website pictures doesn't fully do it justice. we also loved the mini football field with goal post. The boys had a great time trying to score goals against me, they gave up after a while of trying and they had a round of kick about against the older girls. One of the memorable likes especially for my wife and children was the occasional mowing of the cow and her little calf and the trips to the beach in Strandhill and Rosses point All in all we loved the house, the location and plenty to do in Sligo. Thank you Liz for allowing us to use your home for the week of our stay. Hopefully we can utilise it again in the future.

  • "An excellent, well maintained, spotless home which the owners should be proud of."

The perfect hosts who are willing to do anything to make your stay as comfortable & as welcoming as possible. This is a gem of a house. It is HUGE with enough space to loose yourself in one of the 3 reception rooms or 5 bedrooms even with children running about. The gardens are well maintained & private & secure with enough space for the children to play. The location is out of the way but idyllic with the house being an excellent base for exploring the local area. It was brilliant to spend long days away keeping the children active to come home to such a relaxing & chilled out environment. The beds are so comfortable & we all had a perfect nights sleep, every night. Everything is supplied so we had no need to worry about a thing. The house is spotlessly clean with Elizabeth ensuring that it is so before arrival. I cannot fault the place. I would highly recommend this as an ideal home for a family or adults seeking a sound base for exploring Lough Key, Boyle & Carrick-on-Shannon for example.
