Visit the nearby Arigna Mining Experience with its wonderful guided tours underground and understand the trials and tribulations of past generations.

Carrick-on Shannon is a bustling town, with many pubs, cafes and restaurants.

Take a trip on the riverboat there and savour the tranquillity and beauty of the upper Shannon waterways.

The small, rural village of Drumkeeran lies at the foot of the Corry Mountains, a National Heritage Area and north of the expansive Lough Allen in County Leitrim between the village of Dromahair and the town of Drumshanbo. Drumkeeran is home to four pubs, a café and a local shop for essentials. One of Ireland’s most undiscovered counties, Leitrim is a paradise for angling, walking and cycling with endless routes that trail through secluded forest, shores of peaceful lakes and rolling countryside, including the Leitrim Way and the Historical Trail.
