  • "Superb place in beautiful surroundings."

Plenty of space for 8 people. Almost too many utensils etc...we kept finding new items. Some of the mattresses were rather soft. We had a problem with the hot water which was solved promptly by Brian - many thanks. Unfortunately we had almost continuous rain...as this area is renown for its wetness, a drying room would have been useful. Also some indoor games like table football to keep the kids amused. The joining instructions from Sykes were out of date and caused a bit of panic before arrival.

  • "The house is fabulous, spacious and luxurious."

The views from the house are amazing overlooking Lough Gill, surrounding woods and Benbulbin which views change with the weather and the location is so peaceful. The house contains everything you need and so much more. Enjoyed dining and relaxing inside and outside the house. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. Lovely wooded walks, Rosses Point, Strandhill and Sligo town close by and many other activities and places to enjoy in the area. Our family would be very happy to return for another holiday at the Lake House. It was one of the best holiday experiences we have had together as a family and delighted we booked through Sykes. My family and I would happily recommend The Lake House to other guests.

  • "Wow! What a beautiful place to stay."

The listing does not do it justice! We were so lucky to rent The Lakehouse in early December and have Sligo and Lough Gill turn into a winter wonderland for our week long stay. The views over the lake and to Benbulben are sensational! We were greeted to a warm and cosy home with fresh bread and coffee, a starter pack for the wood burning stove and plenty of incidentals such as toiletries and washing powder. The hosts even decorated the house which was so thoughtful! My husband and kids were delighted to see deer and birds in the grounds around the house. We enjoyed walks in nearby slish wood and dooney rock. Slligo town is a short 10 minute drive away. We had 1 very minor issue that was sorted immediately via the host who was so helpful and accessible. We will definitely return to the Lakehouse in the future! Thanks for an amazing stay!

  • "The place was stunning but we did think it needed a bit of a clean as there were a lot of cobwebs."

The shower in the house nearest the garage leaked every time we used it and although the owner got back to us, it wasn't sorted whilst we were there, so we had to use a mop and bucket every time we showered which was a bit annoying or use another bathroom that was occupied by our guests. However the rest of the house was perfect, and the deers in the grounds on the morning were amazing! The views onto the lake are just stunning and it was so lovely to sit out on the veranda and enjoy the scenery.

  • "The house was absolutely stunning!"

Was truly such a beautiful spot to explore. Felt totally relaxed and comfortable in the house and the little gift of coffee bread jam etc just set it off. It was the nicest wheaten bread I have ever eaten! I would definitely love to stay again Cleanliness ok lots of cob webs my friends petrified of spiders so scared her but nothing I didn't expect in a property like that.
