The property

This charming, modern detached holiday home is situated on Achill Island in County Mayo, near the village of Achill Sound.

A comfortable base for groups and families and friends, this lovely cottage will become a home-from-home during your time in Ireland.

The property is set over three floors, with three bedrooms situated on the ground and lower ground floors.

These rooms include a double bedroom with an en-suite and two twin bedrooms, along with a family bathroom on the lower ground floor.

The snug is a great space to relax in after a day spent out and about.

In the winter, there is an open fire that you can snooze in front of, or enjoy a cup of hot chocolate as you reminisce about the day’s adventures.

Patio doors lead through into a sun room, where in the summer you can sit with a good book and catch up on some reading.

There is a modern kitchen with dining for six and outside, a rear lawned garden with beautiful sea views.

The nearest shop and pub are only a five-minute walk away, so you can enjoy a short stroll to pick up the morning paper.

Achill Island is on the famous Wild Atlantic Way and boasts five Blue Flag beaches, which provide brilliant opportunities for watersports, including Keel Beach, around a 20-minute drive away across the island.

Pack a picnic and venture onto mainland County Mayo to the Ballycroy National Park, home to a diverse number of wildlife species, including White-Fronted Geese, Golden Plovers, Red Grouse, American Mink and Pygmy Shrews, to name but a few.

If you bring your bike, you can take to the Great Western Greenway cycle route; it route covers many areas but an eight-mile section of it can be taken from Achill to the seaside village of Mulranny.

At 57 square miles, Achill is the largest island of Ireland, and lies off the west coast, in County Mayo. The island is linked to the mainland by the Michael Davitt Bridge, making it easily accessible. Boasting five Blue Flag beaches, Achill has some of the most beautiful, secluded, remote beaches in Ireland, but watersports are always easy to find. Try surfing, windsurfing, canoeing or kayaking on one of the beautiful beaches, enjoy a horse ride along the coast, or simply take a stroll through the sand.
