    The kids loved playing in the garden and looking at the sheep and cows. I would highly recommend staying here. Hopefully we can come back next year for another week.

Resting rurally on the edge of Killavally near Westport, in County Mayo is Jack's Place, a fabulous, single-storey home.

Step indoors to reach the large hallway, with lovely timber flooring underfoot, before venturing into the sitting room, offering the perfect nook to unwind and break away from the group.

Be welcomed into the open-plan living space, the social hub of the home, where you can prepare meals in the sleek kitchen, keep on top of your washing in the utility, dine as a six around the dining table, and relax with the woodburning stove alight.

As the sun sets, retreat to one of the three bedrooms on offer, all well-appointed and serviced by a family bathroom; select between a double, a twin, and a super king-size with its own, private en-suite shower room.

There is also a small river at the bottom of the garden at the rear called the Camoge River, there is a gate and fence separating the house from the river for the safety of young ones. Awaken to brunch and a stroll across the garden, before heading into nearby Killavally for the essentials, where you can visit McEvilly's, a pub doubling up as a small shop and petrol station.

For further amenities, head to Westport town, only 10 minutes drive away,and hosts plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and cinema.It is only a short walk to the Quay where chill and view the majestic Croagh Patrick mountain as the Atlantic Ocean washes into the bay.You'll also find the local golf club to practise your swing, the Westport Sea Safari, an activity for all of the family, and the stunning Westport House to tour, covering 400-acres of breath-taking countryside and offering Lough views.

For those who enjoy a good walk, nearby, Croagh Patrick awaits with invigorating hikes and stunning views. There are also mapped mountain and forest walks locally, including the Western Way and Tawnyard.
