    “Perfect for our visit to Knock”

    The cottage is about 1mile from Knock Shrine. Mary the owner made us very welcome with tea and coffee when we arrived, We found the home warm n cosy, towels are provided and there’s a washing machine and dishwasher if needed. my husband and I enjoyed our stay here In early November and rate this accommodation 10 out of 10

Attractions within easy reach include fishing on the shores of Lough Mask, near the historic town of Cong, or travel to the pretty harbour town of Westport set beneath the iconic Croagh Patrick Mountain.

The bustling town of Castlebar is only a short drive away and is home to a wonderful selection of shops, pubs and eateries, and is alive with friendly Irish charm.

The quaint village of Knock is home to one of Europe’s most famous religious landmarks. The impressive Knock Shrine was apparently the location of an apparition in 1879. The site has such importance that John Paul II visited Knock Shrine himself to commemorate the centenary of the vision. The village now attracts over one million visitors a year and is just a short distance from Knock Airport. The area is surrounded by beautiful stretching countryside and is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, walkers and fishermen. There are many towns nearby including Castlebar and Westport with many events and festivals throughout the year.
