  • "A very nice cottage, very tidy and clean."

We had a problem while we were there and the owners were very helpful in trying to rectify it. The kitchen was a bit small but useable, you can just fit four people at the table in there. Beds were nice and comfortable even weather behaved for a change. Loved being able to sit outside with a very nice table and chairs. Fridge/freezer in shed was a great help also has a washing line across the shed , so if weather is changeable you can sill get washing nearly dry. A very nic and peaceful cottages with main N17 not to far away so visiting places isn’t a problem.

  • "Everything was perfect."

We love this place. The only problem was that our GPS sent us the wrong place, but I called the owner and she help us get there. It would help if the GPS code was given. The owner left food for us and really cared about us. Our eleven year old son enjoyed the books and the movies that were there for guest to use. We plan to return. I really can not say enough good things about this place.

  • "Geraldine was a fantastic host."

Irish hospitality at its most genuine and sincere. She was genuinely concerned about our welfare, and nothing was too great acrequest for her. She went far beyond the call of duty making us feel comfortable, cared for, and safe. The cottage was simply lovely— so large and spacious, immaculately kept, with every facility you could want. It was such a haven to come home to after a difficult day touring on challenging Irish roads! It’s muchnucer than the published photos would indicate. It is isolated— way down a country road, well off the main highway. But once you’ve dtiven it once or twice, it’s not nearly as intimidating. But everything is so peaceful and lovely at Golden Acres. It’s was a lovely spot of County Mayo that we were pleased to call home for a week.

  • "The cottage was well equipped and met all our needs."

The owner was helpful and came quickly once contacted to go over any needs. The location seems remote but there is a short journey to the main roads and the local town has a good pub/Bistro for food and local supermarket. It is central to Knock, Claremorris, Westport and Charlestown where the Ireland West (Knock) is located. The journey from the airport to the Cottage is around 20minutes and the owner can be contacted if you get lost. If we are I the area again I will use the cottage again.

  • "We have just returned from a lovely week at Golden Acres which served as our base for touring the west of Ireland."

The cottage is lovely in every way and we could not find a single fault. It has recently been completely renovated and has the charm of a 100 yr old cottage combined with a lovely fresh feel due to its refurbishment. The garden is safe and enclosed allowing our 4 and 5 year old boys to run around with our 2 year old Rough Collie without the worry of them straying too far! The owners of the cottage were very warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We can't wait to return to this lovely cottage in beautiful Ireland.

  • "The owner of the cottage, took great pride in setting up her holiday home."

First, everything sparkled with cleanliness. The furnishings were brand new and extremely comfortable. Second, the stove was a perfect touch in the living room. It was comforting to have the fire on in the evening. Third, the gardens and grounds are immaculate and safe. What a beautiful view of rolling fields and many shades of green! My four year old loved running about with a ball and will have forever memories of his time there. Fourth, the puzzles and DVDS provided were great entertainment and had something for each of us. Last, the owner was super friendly, easy to communicate with and most welcoming to our family. We definitely recommend this to all families.
