  • "Thank you for your latest email where you attached a copy of a previous email "AS EVIDENCE" and pointing out that i did not reply to your email dated 3rd Oct."

That particular email stated that you confirmed that you had brought the case to a close. As the case was closed, I fail to comprehend why you thought I needed to reply to closed case. After the case was closed, you sent me another email asking about my holiday. I DID NOT HAVE A HOILIDAY. You also stated that you had spoken to the owner. The owner phoned me several days after I informed you of the circumstances of not having our holiday when you said you would inform the owner when the real truth is you did not, but I did. Throughout this whole event, Sykes has never shown any compassion, consideration or made an apology for your insensitive continued and repeated emails asking me if we had a good holiday and Sykes hopes the holiday was very enjoyable and would I like to review our holiday when you know full well that I was taken seriously ill and we could not continue with our holiday. You have continued to rub salt in the would and cause offense by sending me these repeated emails. No apologies, no personal compassion and no understanding of the situation. A simple apology would have gone a long way to smooth this situation. Your customer care needs reviewing. Regards Bruce Ashton.

  • "A great example of a traditional Irish cottage."

It was cozy and came with everything we needed for our stay. Super convenient for Mulranny (excellent beach), Newport and further afield, with the greenway right beside the property. The only disappointment was that we didn't get to use the lovely open fire as the weather was too warm!

  • "First of all, the correspondence we had with the Sykes staff was exceptional; all of the representatives got back to us very quickly and answered all of our questions and set things up very well."

The Cottage owners were so kind to come to a nearby hotel to lead us to the cottage which was hidden away a bit. They were so delightful, leaving us treats and a fireplace stocked with peat. The Cottage is so welcoming! My sister and I travel often together and this is by far one of the best places we've ever stayed, in any country. Completely quiet and secluded, fields full of livestock, blackberries to pick, and many, many miles of greenway biking trails and hiking trails right out the front door, some of which lead well up into the hills where the views over the water and islands are stunning in the changing light. Achill Island just 25 min away. We used the cottage as a base to explore Mayo and northern Connemara. The Jordans made themselves available for any questions and problems we might have had--but didn't. We were at such peace that we never turned on the radio or listened to the terrible news all around the world, and so could really and fully recharge from work stresses as we searched for the resident hares and pheasants in the fields. We cooked most of our meals and easily popped over to Newport 3 mi away to check emails and get supplies. The butcher shops in Newport have really excellent meats, and the grocery store has pretty much anything else you might need. Several choices of meals at the Newport pubs and restaurants and hotels, too. River's Edge Cafe a few miles away also has excellent food. Wonderful music and food in nearby Mulranny as well. No end of things to do and see! We can't recommend this place and the experience more highly--just wonderful.

Oder auch, wenn man seine Ruhe haben möchte. Ein kleiner Tisch im Wohnbereich wäre noch schön.

The cottage has a lovely view, and was dry and warm, and thoughtfully equiped. We had a thoroughly enjoyable week.
