Booked this accommodation as it looked idyllic, both location and property. I couldn’t have got it more wrong. On arrival, the smell as you entered the property hit you! Smelled like a well used Urinal. Same smell upstairs. Drab old bedding and everything in desperate need of a good clean. Paint flaking off all over. Insects inside light fittings and cobwebs all over. Owner very kindly left previously USED!! bars of soap in both showers, I mean who uses other peoples soap?? Toilet brush was a real treat, stained brown and simply disgusting. The light switches were dirty and everything in the kitchen was just dirty. In fact everything was dirty and dusty and bunged haphazardly into cupboards and dirty drawers. This Cottage appears to have had no decent cleaning regime for sometime in my opinion. We decided to even have our breakfast out after the first day due to dirty utensils and using the small extractor type thing above cooker made old rancid fat drip down onto cooker top. No information booklet regarding WiFi connection or eating out . A real shame as the location is stunning and looks quite nice from outside. Unusual to not find any reviews whatsoever regarding this property on Google or the likes. I’d have avoided like the plague had I read this first. We didn’t want to approach the owner about these issues as it would have been embarrassing to have to point out that their property was dirty, for her and for us.
