The surrounding terrain is truly of Co Roscommon, rolling countryside with lush green fields bordered by limestone walls.

The bustling market town of Castlerea is a short distance away and boasts many pubs, shops and cafes.

An excellent nine hole golf course awaits you on the outskirts of the town.

The river Suck, an excellent coarse fishing river, flows through the town on its way to the mighty River Shannon.

The area is home to many historical sites with some beautiful treks and trails.

Take a day trip to Sligo, a coastal town on the Wild Atlantic Way, with its many attractions, galleries, seaweed baths, boat trips on Lough Gill, surfing and much more.

Pay a visit to Lough Key Forest Park & Activity Centre at nearby Boyle, with its beautiful parkland, lake marina and restaurant.

The picturesque Lough Gara is a short distance away and offers a scenic location to relax and explore.

Castlerea is the second largest town in County Roscommon. Situated in the west of the county, Castlerea(Caislean Ri-King's Castle) straddles the banks of the River Suck , a tributary of the River Shannon. A bustling market town, with plenty of shops, pubs and cafes, boasts a 9 hole golf course just outside the town set amidst a beautiful parkland on the banks of the river. Visit Clonallis House, a beautiful restored Victorian mansion, in mature woodland with wonderful history. Ballaghaderreen lies to the north of Castlerea with the county town of Roscommon a short distance away. Knock International airport is a 30 mins drive.
