“This is a fantastic cottage for a romantic getaway.”

We really enjoyed our stay. The caretaker Willard went out of his way to help us. The cottage was a little bit hard to find due to roadworks, but once we found our way everything was great. I highly recommend this cottage for couples.

“We left 4 days ahead of our scheduled departure.”

Yes the location is scenic and quiet yet close to required services. The lack of Internet was very inconvenient. Understandable that it was due to the construction but it should have be rectified for us. The number of month old cobwebs was not enjoyable. The horrible smell in the bathroom is what eventually forced us to leave. Replacement of the washroom heater is required, the urine has damaged it beyond cleaning I'm sure. The lack of potable water was also an inconvenience and should have been posted on the website. The utensils and pots and pans should be checked before the next client arrives. We did not eat here because I didn't think it was my job to clean clean dishes. The location needs an owner who lives close if it is intended to survive as a holiday destination. I think the owner needs to be made aware of these issues.

“It's a beautiful "grand" little house/lodge full of atmosphere, height in living space and that lovely experience of a little bit of castle life with cosiness thrown in.”

We loved our time here and the hosts were super nice and helpful about everything. I would definitely go back and the area is full full full of beauty and things to do.

“Just as described”

The house was clean and tidy on arrival and we were met by the manager with the key. We got good instructions on the operation of the facilities and everything worked.From (ONLY) a personal opinion, it was quite remote (very reasonable to describe as romantic) but I felt that it was heading to be a little lonely. The TV is Netflix only and being on the mezzanine floor the "flow" of the house was a little disjointed. Would we go again - "Yes"

Collooney is a quaint little village in Co Sligo. Situated at the confluence of the Owenmore and Unshin rivers and forming a gateway to Sligo town, seven miles away, Collooney has a rich history. Markree Castle, ancestral seat of the Cooper family with its two ornate gate lodges is close by. Sligo town,one of Ireland’s largest towns is a great destination set among Benbulben Mountain, Knocknarea Hill, sandy beaches, and the green countryside of the Emerald Isle. The town itself offers a wide variety of shops, restaurants with great seafood and pubs playing traditional Irish music.
