  • "As a family of four, we really enjoyed our week at Riverdale Cottage and were above average satisfied."

There is not a single point to criticize, but a lot to praise. It is clean, cozy, all furnishings in excellent condition. John in particular proved to be friendly and personable as the owner. We wish John all the best with the rental, especially that the guests take care of the house and John doesn't have to worry. All the best and „Auf Wiedersehen“.

Oliver it was so nice to have you visit Riverdale and delighted you felt comfortable during your stay. It would be lovely to see you all again should you return to the Sligo area. Thank you for your visit. John and Marion Property Owner

  • "We stayed at Riverdale as part of our family holiday this year."

John and Marion were fantastic hosts from arrival, with a lovely welcome pack of house essentials and a folder of info about the local area, attractions, restaurants etc. Riverdale is a new build property with all the comfort, space and modcons (and Wifi!) you could need as a family (2 adults/ 3 kids). It was spotlessly clean with plenty of fresh towels and bedding for our stay. It is situated in a great location. It is peaceful and quiet, surrounded by lovely countryside, but only 5 mins drive to Sligo town. It really was a home from home for us for the week, as we explored Sligo. Very happy to recommend Riverdale for any family and we wish John and Marion all the best for the future.

Many thanks Derek for you and the Family's recent stay. A pleasure to meet you all and appreciate your generous and kind comments on your experience in Riverdale and Sligo. It would be lovely to see you again at another stage and many thanks again for your visit. John and Marion Property Owner

River Dale was of a very high standard. It's detached on a sizeable plot, quietly located on a side road, with easy access to Sligo town and its restaurants and music bars, the coast and main roads. The cottage was obviously almost new, spotless, spacious and very well equipped and maintained. John was on hand for any issues. We had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay in what seemed like a home from home. Sligo is a beautifully scenic area and seems less commercialised and visited than other parts of the west coast. Definitely recommended and hope to return.

  • "We returned to River Dale a year after our first stay there and really enjoyed this excellent accommodation!"

With four adults, two children, and quite wet weather after Easter, we still got the most out of our holidays and are certainly planning to come back next year. The accommodation is spacious, clean and more than well equipped, allowing everyone to have their space when the weather does not suit outdoor activities. The location offers a lot of great walks, scenery and destinations all within a short drive. On one or two occasions, when we did get wet on our adventures, access through the back door, washing and drying facilities and a warm, comfortable house really made all the difference. The well-kept garden offers lovely outdoor space to catch some sunshine. The icing on the cake is the warm welcome by the hosts, in person and with the some goodies and staples readily available in the kitchen upon arrival. Thank you, John and Marion! As I said, we hope to be back soon, as there is so much more to explore in this beautiful part of the country.

Lisa, so great to have you and your family back to stay with us at Riverdale. Delighted we continued to meet your expectations and that Sligo continues to offer plenty to see and do. Wonderfully thoughtful hosts spend time preparing for your stay. Some welcoming items, a beautifully laid house with every modern convenience. The showers are wonderful, the WiFi fast, the beds comfortable, and the house is bright and airy. Even if it rains outside, it's a lovely house to just relax and chill. Perhaps we would leave out swimming, as the sea (or lake) water is cold. Riverdale, our cottage, enhanced all these pleasures at the start and the end of each day of outings. Windows on the east, south and west sides of the cottage commanded pasture, mature trees and skies - specimen views of the green image of Ireland. There were plenty of comfortable corners in which to read. At night the only sound likely to be heard was the patter of rain. The spaces for cooking and dining and relaxing were wide and easy to manage - further back, the sleeping, bathroom and laundry accommodation were all equally well-provisioned. Covid-19 as a background factor in our late July stay only made for even greater appreciation of the cheerful ambience of the cottage inside and out.
