“Louch derg stay”
Arrived on a Thursday around 1pm, key in the door so let ourselves in (6 in our party including 2 kids of 6 and 4) The cottage was very clean and tidy but was freezing with a musty smell ,would have been nice for the cottage to be aired and warmed a bit before arriving (temp outside was around 4 degrees ,so very cold) .The lady (Barbara)arrived, she was very helpful. She then opened the cupboard with the electric meters, she took a reading and asked for 50 euros as a deposit for the electricity !.Now everything is electric in the cottages from the heaters to the oven ,so beware for our stay of 4 days (2 of which we were away most of the time ) cost us 45 euros !!!!! We managed to get the fire going on all the days so didn't use the heaters much ,so in spite of this the cost of the electricity seemed very expensive for the few days. Also, although we like dogs, people let their dogs roam around so lots of dog poo everywhere on the grassy bit at the front of the cottage, not too nice for kids running around .On reflection I would not stay here again ,simply because the running cost per week seems too exorbitant, meaning the electricity would cost €70 per week! Way too much on top of the rental cost, food and fuel for the fire.
