“Wood View has the feel of a comfortable family home.”
It was our first Christmas for 35 years away from our own home and we were delighted to find the property had been beautifully decorated for Christmas. This along with the open fire created a lovely cosy ambience. We spent a very happy time here with our family who live close by . The views and surrounding countryside are beautiful and it is within easy reach of towns and places of interest. “Excellent house; very clean, very comfortable beds and furnishings and it was much larger than expected.”
We had an issue with the internet not working at first but the owners got it fixed right away. They met us at the house the day we arrived and got us settled in and gave us some good advice about where to find things in the area. Absolutely beautiful view of the Galtee mountains out of the sunroom windows and from the deck - the owners need to put a picture or two of the view in their ad. Perfectly located in south central Ireland near the M8 to see all the major tourist sites from Killarney, Blarney, Kilkenny, Cashel, Cahir, etc. We considered another place near Mallow as well but looking back this was a much better choice of location for our day trips out to the places we wanted to visit. Our only suggestion would be to upgrade the bar fridge to a full size refrigerator and to have a few more cooking items like a second skillet and a good sharp knife. If we return to this area in the future we would certainly stay here again. Overall five stars!
“We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful cottage.”
Prime position for sight seeing, all home comforts and wonderful views of the mountains. Owners very friendly and most helpful. Would highly recommend it.
“We were met on arrival by the owners, who were most welcoming, and had put the central heating on and lit the fire.”
Having travelled in April with changeable weather, the real bonus of Wood View is the conservatory. Come rain or shine, this really was the perfect place to sit and enjoy the fabulous views from the reclining armchairs. (We felt that one of the 'double' beds was more of a 3/4 size, not a problem for us as there were only 2 of us, however, may be an issue if 2 couples are going). The village of Bansha has a bar, butchers, a convenience store and a petrol station, which also sells groceries. There looked to be a fast food shop opening shortly. Wood View is in a good spot for touring and from here we visited Tipperary, Cork, Kinsale, Cobh, Blarney Castle (and kissed the stone) and also drove out to the west coast and along part of the 'Wild Atlantic Way' - very scenic. The property is also good for local walks. Would also recommend the Ballinacourty restaurant which is about 10 minutes drive from here. Good food and good service. The property does have a hair dryer (not mentioned in the description)
“Trudi and Billy had decorated the house beautifully for Christmas.”
Always on hand if you needed anything. This house has a true homely feel which is want we needed. Fantastic location for Clonmel and the motorway connectionscare great. Will definitely return.
“Wood View is a beautiful holiday home with everything you could possibly need.”
The location is peaceful and relaxing and the views are amazing! Trudi and Billy, the owners, were there to greet us on arrival and were very friendly and helpful. Wood View provided the perfect base for exploring southern Ireland. We had a great time!
