  • "This is a lovely house in a great location."

We absolutely loved our stay at Valley View. The only areas for improvement might be to clean the windows and to fix the creaky bed in the double bedroom. (There is a broken slat underneath).

Thank you for your feedback, I will address the issues raised. I wasn't aware the of the broken slat. Property Owner

  • "I really like Valley View- as is evident- it was my third time staying."

On a slightly negative side. Let Irish people booking be aware that the rental figures quoted are in sterling. This year, that proved to be much higher in euros. The house could do with minor upgrading, eg, a small undercounter fridge is not sufficient in hot weather, especially with a young child needing a lot of milk. Mattresses and bed covers need replacing.

  • "Valley view is a house with good and bad points."

First the good points, it is in a good location for touring South Wexford. The house is bright .airy. and spacious, the controls for the kitchen appliances, showers and heating and hot water are easy to use. The beds are comfy and the house is easy to maintain. BUT the directions to the house are suitable if you are coming from Dublin Airport or Rosslare but if you are coming from another part of Ireland it may mean having to go 12 to 15km out of your way to follow directions, so I would suggest directions from Arthurstown as well as Willamsbridge, Also it was late. dark and raining when we arrived and found it a bit difficult to find the house, so a marker outside the wall could be useful. The keys to this house are kept in a key safe which is very tricky to use I got it open to gain access but failed to open it to return keys at end of week. There are 4 access points to the house all with steps which is awkard for people with mobility problems.the mat in the hall had turned up ends posing a trip hazard. The television even though the house is in Ireland had no Irish channels a maintenance man had look but failed to sort problem also the TV is almost impossible to use after a night or two we stopped trying to turn it on and did without luckily we had books and games with us.The kitchen had no welcome pack of tea, coffee etc there was no radio,no scissors or oven gloves and the presses were so full of kitchen utensils that there was no room left for storing food only the worktop. There is only one rubbish bin in the kitchen and still we were expected to recycle. The main bathroom had no bath or shower slip mats provided. The twin bedrooms had no rubbish bins,no second locker or lamp and there were no extra pillows or blankers. Lastly on the day of departure we were asked to strip the beds (never before been asked to do this) and put the bed linen and the towels in the bath. This is my report of Valley View and I leave it up to you future prospective customers if you want to travel and stay in this house or not.

  • "The house is comfortable and spacious and it was presented clean and well provided (soap, disinfectant, detergents, etc."

). The TV was of good quality and the satellite system had plenty of programs - the instructions left were clear and easy to follow. The outside area was large and well maintained, with a comfortable table and chairs set. The house has good furniture, very practical, with plenty of storage space. The pillows and duvets were comfortable and looked new. The showers worked well. Duncannon village is 3 min drive and the Hook lighthouse 10. A wonderful experience! Thank you, Sharon!

  • "All members of my family loved this cottage."

There is a high level of cleanliness and it is extremely well equipped and comfortable. The accommodation is spacious, was very warm and the beds, particularly the master, are very comfortable. The location is great being in the countryside but not too far from the nearest villages. There is ample parking and a sun trap to relax outside if you are there in the summer with nice views. Our holiday coincided with the Covid-19 lock down and therefore we were not able to experience all this lovely area has to offer. However, we were lucky enough to eat and drink at the weekend in the excellent bars/restaurants in Duncannon before the complete shut down on the Monday. Despite this we made the best of it by exploring the local area and beautiful beaches. We can highly recommend this cottage and wouldn't hesitate to book again.

The house is of a really high standard, exceptionally clean and with everything you need. The owner also responds to feedback because I noticed that someone had previously left a comment about a washing line - this has been addressed. I really would recommend staying here and we would definitely stay again. Its such a relaxing place, lovely spacious front garden, beautiful views, close to the beach and park for children. We've had a fab holiday. Many thanks

  • "We all had a great time and nothing negative to input about the house."

Our suggestion is that Please take into serious consideration the time of vacating the premise. We checked in at 3pm and checked out at 10am which we thought was very early as a couple with young children. We felt pressured to leave as the owner and a housekeeper were at the house by 10:10am sharp. Hopefully you will take our suggestion on board. Thanks.

Thank you for your feedback. The check in time is 3pm and check out time 10am across the majority of our properties. I am sorry if this caused any inconveniences. kind regards Property Owner

  • "Hello, We have booked cottages with Hogans a number of times in past years and all the ones we chose were excellent with one exception regarding the external aspects (garden & access - although the internals of that cottage were fine)."

We have had the odd problem from time to time eg a washing machine failure - but the owner was always quick to rectify the situation and all the owners we met were very friendly and helpful. When it comes to Valley View though, everything worked perfectly - no problems whatsoever! The internals and externals were immaculate! In a way it was home from home as some appliances were even virtually identical to our own. Overall I would say that this cottage is the best we have ever stayed in - and we would certainly not hesitate to recommend it. As we were leaving at the end of our stay we met the couple that look after the cottage and prepare it for the next guests. We had a quick chat with them (very friendly) and let them know how pleased we were with the cottage. As we said to them, the cottage was so near perfect that the only extra thing we could think of that could be useful, was a clotheshorse to help dry washing if the weather was typical Irish!

  • "Valley View is a gorgeous holiday cottage on the outskirts of the seaside village of Duncannon."

The cottage is very spacious and upon arrival, you instantly feel relaxed and at peace. The beach and a lovely children's park are within walking distance and the cottage contained everything we could hope for from a holiday let. The views of the countryside are amazing from every angle from the cottage. We visited Waterford, Wexford, Tintern Abbey, Dunmore Abbey maze, New Ross and the Hook Lighthouse during our week so there's plenty to do to keep adults and children busy!

The layout of the house is excellent , particularly the three spacious bedrooms and the ensuite . Valley View is perfectly located to explore all the attractive locations and amenities in the area - particularly the wonderful Tintern Abbey and its facilities and walks,. and the Hook head Lighthouse.
