"We had an amazing visit in Fethard and much of it was to do with how lovely the Sunset Lodge is!"
Just a short walk to breathtaking trails and many great recommendations from the host for how to get the most out of the area. The lodge has everything we needed to be truly relaxed.

The host was both welcoming and attentive on our arrival, ensuring we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and relaxed.
I recommend this cottage for those wanting to explore Ireland's southeast corner.

"Good central base
Sunset view is an ideal base for travelling throughout Wexford and Waterford with the following positives-
Beautiful view
Warm
Excellent shower
Lovely welcome package
Very comfortable bed
All essentials such as dishwasher tablets ,laundry detergent etc amply provided
Well equipped kitchen with washer dryer
Unfortunately there were some not so positives-
Nothing to hang anything on- no hangers for clothes (although there was a flimsy clothes rail), no toilet roll holders (the floor does not count!"
), no towel rails (quite a problem when having a shower) and no hooks for hanging any wet coats etc on
Minimal privacy on owners house side of holiday accomodation- large window looking straight into owners, not very far away house. Also no separate garden from the owners to allow dog to enjoy. The owners 2 dogs, while lovely when they get to know you after 2-3 days, proved quite the deterrent to our German shepherd
Complete lack of clothes storage - no drawers and just a very temporary rail
No light shades upstairs-exposed bulbs only- leaves place look unfinished
Wifi- very very selective as to what it would work with
Soft furnishings- non existent!! Bed settee was beyond uncomfortable.- not even suitable for short sits - which if you are on holiday with such a lovely view is important for those relaxing times . There was a chair also which was just minimally better. There is ample room for a comfortable settee which would make all the difference as has been previously raised
While there definitely are positives with this accomodation the not so positives would definitely deter future booking

"We had a fantastic weeks stay here."
Lovely accommodation, ideally located to Fethard-on-Sea with two beautiful beaches within walking distance.
A comfortable cosy place to say ideally located to explore all of the Hook Peninsula and County Wexford.

"The area needs to be fenced off from the main house."
As the two dogs from the owners house are very intimidating to a small dog. Preventing her from enjoying the freedom of a garden area. Plus the pubs and local amenities need updating on the system as the information provided was outdated and a lot of places have closed down. But otherwise excellent relaxation for what we went there mainly for.

"Everything was fine with Sea View, but there was no Sea view."
It would have been nice to have had a bigger bed. There was no instructions for any of the appliances.
We had a lovely week plenty of sunshine, we have been to Ireland many times, and this was one of the best.

"The locality was perfect for us as I love to walk the dog first thing in the morning and to a have a beach on your doorstep is amazing."
Also close to many tourist areas such as a Johnstown castle which even allowed dogs in their cafe. We enjoyed Hook lighthouse and the ferry across to Waterford return date reasonable at€14.
The living space is upstairs giving a splendid view over the countryside. The kitchen was better equipped than any cottage I have stayed in, even a coffee maker. Having a freezer was ideal fur ice blocks so we could use when going on picnics plus our dog food is frozen so made life so much easier The bed was very comfortable and shower hot and powerful. On arrival there were supplies for breakfast and lunch which was so kind even though the local shop gad anything you would need. The Indian take away was very nice.
The only downside was that neither our apple or Samsung devices would connect to the internet so cost me to pay for data required but if you do not need internet the rest was perfect for the two if us and our Westie. Loads of space in the living space for the dog crate

"A lovely, comfortable property within close proximity to many tourist spots in Wexford including JFK Arboretum, Johnstown Estate, Hook & Kilmore Quay."
The beach and village of Fethard are minutes away also making it an excellent base to enjoy Wexford. Marie was an excellent host as well as the two lovely dogs! I would definitely recommend Sunset View if planning any trip to Wexford.

"All facilities operated fine without having to ask the owner how things worked, always a plus, although if Wi-Fi is important to you, then this cottage is not for you."
The wi-fi never worked at all, the only fly in the ointment.
Positives: 5 stars for scenic location, comfort, cleanliness, and the well equipped kitchen, not forgetting the welcome pack on arrival (I didn't have a problem with the comfort of the settee as reported by some, or the lack of toilet roll holders or towel rails, but then I'm an adaptable single male traveller!).

"Accommodation was adequate, small things would have made a lot of difference."
There was no ironing board and the bed settee and chair were very uncomfortable to sit on. In fact the chair arm was broken. Having said that, the location is perfect and the welcome pack was lovely.

This house is very comfortable and well laid out. It is also warm and all facilities worked very well.

"Positives : Warm personal welcome extended by the owner (and those lovely dogs!"
) ‘Starter-pack’ of bread, butter, etc left in the large and extremely well-equipped kitchen. Cottage very clean. Plenty of towels supplied. Bed has a good, comfortable mattress. On return from the many chilly and damp/wet/windy days, it was good to be able to switch on the quickly effective radiators. And it’s true : the cottage really is just five minutes’ walk from the nearest beautiful beach (Carniven) — and as a bonus, the start of a coast path!
Slightly less positive : First a warning — shower tray pretty slippery. No towel rails, no loo-roll holders, no hooks for (wet) coats by front door.
There is a router in the cottage, but the wifi signal started to fluctuate before disappearing completely between 5pm and 6pm, reappearing very late at night. In warmer weather this wouldn’t matter at all, of course, but on our first visit to Ireland, we hadn’t realised just how cold, wet and windy it would be in late September, and just how many of these long(ish) light evenings we would therefore be spending indoors!
These were our experiences ; but I imagine that all of these glitches and hitches will be quickly and easily remedied.
Fethard village has all amenities, the people we met in the pub were amazingly friendly and welcoming, and all in all I would recommend this cottage as a good destination for a relaxing holiday.

"We found the property to be excellent."
It was well equipped, (the only thing we could think of that would help would be a pair of oven gloves!) spacious and with tremendous views. The facilities in the village of Fethard, the nearby beaches and the many things to do in the area made for a great holiday. Being welcomed home each day by the owner's two friendly dogs was a bonus!
