  • "Cotage was smaller than we expected."

Could not use the bed upstairs. The area around the cottage was great for keeping the dog exercised. We enjoyed sitting outside in the lovely weather. Mylers pub was great for food and take away. It was open just at the weekend. Lovely beach close to Cottage. Great for walking not sure if it was safe for swimming.

  • "We found the swallows nest clean, comfortable and well equipped for everything you would need for your holiday."

Brian was very helpful and informative about the area. Lots of beautiful places and beaches to visit nearby and Meylers pub and restaurant just a short walk away was lovely for food (at the weekend) and drinks in the beer garden.

  • "We left the property cleaner than we found it."

There was dust in every corner off the property and under the bed. There was no instructions on how to work the hot water. The shower was not suitable for a disabled person. The radiator in the bathroom wouldn't work. The property or surrounding area was not suitable a wheelchair user. On a plus the locals were lovely as was the local pub which permitted our dog onto their premises.

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We have had customers with levels of disability stay with us before without issue. We would ask that anyone with a disability contact us through Sykes to discuss the property before booking to access the level of need and our suitability. . Sykes are very responsive when it comes to these types of things, they do contact us and they do ensure that the property is suitable for their customer when asked. We will look further into the cleaning issues and thank you for raising them. I can confirm that all radiators, hot water etc. do work fully and have not been an issue to date. We do accept that this was not your experience. The shower is large but it does not have disability rails or a seat in it etc. We are glad that you enjoyed the local hospitality which is a key part of the experience. We wish you well and thank you for visiting us. Property Owner

  • "Such a lovely location."

In the heart of a busy farming community with a view of the sea. The garden was perfect for our small dog to enjoy. So close to beautiful beaches and dining out. We had amazing weather, which was the icing on the cake. Many thanks to the lady who maintains the properties. She was so helpful.

  • "Loved the location and outdoor space, perfect for sunny evenings."

Well equipped cottage. Comfortable bed and great shower. Only complaint would be difficultly in seeing TV screen either from seating area or bed, but it's a minor issue when weather is good!

Glad you enjoyed it, the TV is actually on an extendable swivel. Hope to see you back soon Property Owner

  • "A wonderful location."

Swallow's Nest is minutes from some of Ireland's most beautiful, if not that well known, coastline. If you happen to be a birdwatcher, it is like heaven! Lovely, cosy accommodation.

  • "Too Small For Two People , TV Tiny ."

No washing machine or Dishwasher. Had to leave windows open just to get the room cool (Fan might be a good idea ) Brian very helpful . Internet really bad ,half the stay was no internet so we had to travel outside the area to make a phone call to our daughter to wish her a happy birthday . If the weather had been bad we might have left early just because of the tiny space we were staying in . Wife would not have stayed if she had known we had an adjoining door which could have been occupied any strange. On the plus side we loved the location and would stay again if the room was slightly bigger.

About the location

TACUMSHANE, COUNTY WEXFORD

Wexford 9 miles.

The small village of Tacumshane in County Wexford has a pub and restaurant, The Millhouse, and is home to the Republic of Ireland's only surviving windmill. Built in 1846, the timber used is thought to be beach driftwood or wood from the shipwrecks that were all too common in this coastal region. The windmill is now designated a national monument. This part of County Wexford has plenty on offer - Tacumshane Lake is a favourite with anglers and birdwatchers, there are many golf courses, and the coastal walking path is easily reached. Kilmore Quay fishing village is a few miles down the road, and there are some lovely beaches, ideal for relaxing and playing on the sand. The county town of Wexford is under 10 miles away, and offers plenty of amenities including shops, bars and good restaurants.
