“Lovely house in a quiet location”
We spent a week at Carmel's Lodge in Kilmore Quay this month. The house is beautifully decorated and has a great layout. It looks small from the front but it isn't small at all. We were very pleasantly surprised. There is a patio in the front and back where you can sit outside if you want. I loved the sunroom in the front of the house with its comfortable couch and view. We were very pleasantly surprised. There is a patio in the front and back where you can sit outside if you want. I loved the sunroom in the front of the house with its comfortable couch and view. Since it was still on the cold side while we were there I liked sitting there in the warm sun. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are in one big, open area. There is comfortable furniture and cable tv if you want it. The house has two bedrooms with double beds so two couples or a family with children could easily share the house. There was private, off street parking. My only complaint was that we were not met by anyone who showed us around the house and we had a difficult time finding how to turn on the heat and the water to the shower.

About the location
KILMORE QUAY, COUNTY WEXFORD
Rosslare 12 miles; Wexford 14 miles.
Kilmore Quay is a small fishing village situated in the south east corner of County Wexford, 14 miles from Wexford town and just 12 miles from the international ferry port of Rosslare. Famous for its numerous whitewashed thatched cottages and its state-of-the art marina, Kilmore Quay is also an established angling centre with many species of fish in abundance, and the seafood festival in July is the perfect example of it! The area is ideal for a spot of diving as the seas from Hook Head to Carnsore Point have been known as "the graveyard of a thousand ships". Beautiful unspoilt sandy beaches are within easy reach of the village, with nearby Ballyteigue offering beautiful walks along some of the finest sand dunes in the south-east of the country. A day trip to the Great Saltee Island and its famous bird sanctuary is an absolute must!
