The cottage was lovely, the photos did not do it justice. Everything was clean and comfortable. Michael and Margaret were wonderful hosts, very friendly. We had a wonderful meal at the local hotel and my husband enjoyed the golf course across the road. Would recommend.

The cottage is newly renovated and up to a very modern standard. The living area is super comfy with nice couches and an electric stove. The kitchen is very modern with very good appliances. The WiFi is also top notch. We slept like babies and loved every second of our stay. Highly recommended and we would definitely stay here again.

Hello Johannes Apologies for not replying to your lovely review so long ago, it was really nice of you to let us know you enjoyed and your compliments are much appreciated. The Cottage was off the letting platform for a period during the closures of the pandemic so I was not on the home screen so much. Hopefully we will see you again sometime Kind regards Michael & Margaret Property Owner

About the location

AUGHRIM, COUNTY WICKLOW

Avoca 14 miles; Glendalough 16.4 miles; Dublin 44.5 miles.

Located roughly an hour’s drive south of Dublin city, Aughrim is a beautiful village, recently an all-Ireland tidy towns winner, set where several mountain valleys meet. The valley of the River Ow has fantastic scenery, and spreads north-west of Aughrim for about 10 miles to the base of Lugnaquilla Mountain. It is definitely worth a visit, with a selection of local pubs and restaurants, and landmarks such as the Old Mill and the local Catholic and Church of Ireland churches. As many buildings were constructed from locally-quarried Wicklow granite, Aughrim is locally known as "The Granite City".
