10 Customer Reviews

  • "The house was clean but some basic amenities were not provided."

There was no soap or shower gel in any of the bathrooms There was no dishwashing liquid in the sink We bought those items as well as matches / lighters for the open fire. There were T-shirts hanging on tv room And while a little thing - the coffee and tea were old This meant we had to go shopping after we discovered these items were not there and shops are not close. Like any BnB / Rental / AirBnB i would expect those basic items. If milk can be provided, the basic cleaning should also be there.

Dear Guest Thank you for your feedback, which we appreciate and are sorry that you felt some amenities were not provided at the time of your visit. However, I'm bound to point out that the accommodation we offer is self-catering. In saying that, we endeavour to make Toberlonagh as comfortable and welcoming as possible, and try to go above and beyond, ensuring tea/coffee/fresh milk and homemade scones are available - should people arrive without having had a chance to purchase any food. This is entirely a good will gesture. And there is always hand sanitiser/dishwasher tablets and plenty of loo rolls on hand. It is the personal choice of our guests whether to use the open fires, providing fuel etc., themselves - as Toberlonagh has full and very efficient central heating. We are also pleased to acknowledge our guests always comment on the very high standard of cleanliness and comfort, which again is something we always try to achieve and take great pride in maintaining. I do hope that despite this you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Really enjoyed our stay."

The house was warm and cosy and the beds very comfortable. The home baked buns were a lovely touch on our arrival. We were conveniently located for travel to a number of different areas. There were a couple of minor issues but we left a note on our departure just for reference so they can be fixed. Loved our time here and would definitely recommend.

  • "Lovely property in a beautiful setting."

Very clean with all mod cons. Plenty of space inside to allow our family to spread out. The kitchen had all the utensils needed for cooking meals. A large garden with amazing views, and great garden furniture. If you use Sat nav the post code takes you right to the door. Had a thoroughly enjoyable week with my family.

Thank you so much for your feedback, we are absolutely delighted you enjoyed your time in our beautiful mountain home. It's very special to us and to be able t o share it with people who appreciate it means a lot. So pleased the new garden furniture and patio works well! Property Owner

  • "The property was ideal, very well equipped with everything you needed."

WiFi was very poor, but that is probably due to the isolated location

Thank you for your feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed staying at our beautiful home in Ireland. There has recently been upgrading work relating to Internet in the area, so hopefully once completed all will be well. Although, as you note, one of the main features of Toberlonagh is its wonderful mountain and woodland location. Property Owner

  • "We had an amazing time at Toberlonagh."

The house was very spacious, warm and well equipped. It was in a very rural setting which our children loved. We were visiting family so will hopefully book this lovely property again in the future.

  • "As a foreigner we had a bit difficulties figuring out how you sort out your litter."

Here in Denmark we sort the litter into 10 different groups, but by you we only sorted the litter into 3 groups. Was that correct?

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, the sorting of the litter was correct and we very much appreciate you taking the time and trouble to do this. Delighted you enjoyed your stay at Toberlonagh. Property Owner

  • "Lovely location, very rural."

Loved listening to the birds and watching nature all around. Beautiful Aklow beach within easy driving distance. The property could do with some TLC as looking tired and needs a deep clean. Should be a notice in the property to say not to drink the tap water, must use bottled water. Perhaps the filtration system for the water needs looking at to rectify this. It's all about the location with this property and if you want to get away from it all then this is the spot.

Thank you for completing the feed back for Toberlonagh. There had been a planned interruption to the water supply for the property and the bottled water had been place there to cover the interruption to the service, which thankfully did not go ahead. I was sorry to read you found the property to be in need of a deep clean and looking tired. As you see from previous reviews we have had excellent feedback for our cleanliness. The property is undergoing its annual maintenance programme and is being redecorated and having a new dining suite put in place for future guests. Property Owner

  • "Toberlonagh is a luxurious house with all mod cons and a traditional feel as the house is older and refurbished."

Its set in a beautiful location and even has a balcony where you can look out towards the farm, fields with inquisitive cows as well as a wood and a mountain. Once home the house is welcoming with outside lighting and good indoor heating, spacious kitchen and TV, internet etc so well connected. Being remote, down several leafy lanes, it's very peaceful and a wonderful location for the Wicklow Way and the Tinahely walks plus not too far from the coast and also the motorway - a real jewel tucked away in Co Wicklow

  • "Loved staying here."

.. we were looking for an out of the way countryside experience and this worked well. The location is surprisingly central, arklow in 20 mins, Dublin in 90 mins and exploration of the whole east cost and Wicklow Mountains within an hour. Tesco at arklow was handy. A couple of minor issues meant we learned the housekeeper and owners were lovely helpful people. Would stay again

About the location

AUGHRIM, COUNTY WICKLOW

Avoca 14 miles; Glendalough 16.4 miles; Dublin 44.5 miles.

Located roughly an hour’s drive south of Dublin city, Aughrim is a beautiful village, recently an all-Ireland tidy towns winner, set where several mountain valleys meet. The valley of the River Ow has fantastic scenery, and spreads north-west of Aughrim for about 10 miles to the base of Lugnaquilla Mountain. It is definitely worth a visit, with a selection of local pubs and restaurants, and landmarks such as the Old Mill and the local Catholic and Church of Ireland churches. As many buildings were constructed from locally-quarried Wicklow granite, Aughrim is locally known as "The Granite City".
