  • "Lovely stay, thank you for the welcome pack."

The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable, location is great for exploring the coast and close to Minehead and Dunster.

  • "We had a lovely stay at 3, Elm Cottage."

It is well situated for exploring the Somerset coast and we really enjoyed walking over to Dunster Castle and Blue Anchor. The house itself is comfortable and well equipped, with a charming garden.

  • "Elm Cottage served us well, during our stay."

It is a cosy cottage, with a home from home feel. The kitchen is well equipped and has good quality appliances. It is beautifully decorated through out. It just lacks some attention to detail. The ensuite room has no storage for clothes, it has items under the bed which could be stored in the shed (you could then buy under bed storage). We did have to clean a fair amount of dust from the floor and the bathroom door didn't close because the latch was out and the energy saving light didn't work. Despite a telescopic ladder under the bed, the skylight had a huge cobweb on. We found pine needles on the mantle piece, and the sofa was filthy and made you feel uncomfortable to sit on , it either needs a good clean or a cover over it ( which you could purchase from Amazon) We spent time in the garden which is well maintained and we made use of the BBQ, the hand rail needs to be tightened, as it is a bit wobbly. All in all we had a lovely stay

Outdoor chairs were left out in rain so took 2 days to dry. One ripped during week when sat on it. Beautiful cottage tho.. well equipped, lovely welcome food package. Great location. Lovely walks. Thankyou .

  • "Really enjoyed our stay, the high quality and comfortable accommodation and location."

The only slight negative things, we didn't know what to do with waste; the regular bin outside was already full on arrival so by the end of our stay we left it 'over flowing'. Also, the quality of the mugs seemed a.bit low compared to the high quality elsewhere eg. Cookware and over were high quality. Other than that, really impressed all round - thank you for a pleasant week

  • "Cottage is beautiful, cozy and comfortable."

We had a lovely stay and it’s in a nice quiet location. The only reasons I haven’t give top top marks is that local info needs to be updated. The local shop closed for good in November 22. Info in folder and tourist info needs updating. Gardener turned up whilst we were there as he thought the place was empty to mow the lawn. Lastly two loo rolls for up to potentially six people! We couldn’t find anymore loo roll and there were no supplies for our first fire as described in the folder.we contacted the number re fire wood and was told somebody else normally sorts that. By the time we realised all of this we had had too much wine to drive the couple of miles to Tesco and then discovered the local shop was closed. Beds are lovely and comfy, garden beautiful and kitchen very well equipped. Love the fridge and range cooker. Appreciate the owner is abroad and it’s just little things but they do make a difference.

  • "We had a wonderful stay; the cottage is warm, spacious and cosy, comfortable beds, the woodburner was roaring away every night and the welcome pack including wine and jam was terrific."

We made good use of the pubs in Dunster ( a lovely scenic 25 minute walk) and the local pub ( a very convenient 3 minute walk way!). What made this property stand out was the terrific eclectic collection of pictures, characterful furniture and ornaments. 10/10, hopefully come back soon!

  • "Great stay at 3 elm cottage everything you need for a relaxing holiday, the hamper on arrival very nice and much appreciated, the property was clean and tidy and well equipped, the two bathrooms with rainfall showers were lovely as was the log fires in the evening, the parking spot at the back was a good size and easily accessible."

We hardly used the car as buses ran frequently from the bus stop a two minute walk from the front door. We very much enjoyed our holiday and would recommend to anyone.

  • "Lovely cottage in a quiet village close to Minehead."

Regular bus service to other places like Taunton if you don't want to take car. Village pub that does nice meals short walking distance from cottage. Dunster Castle close by and is a lovely day out. Would definitely stay again.

  • "We found the Cottage extremely well equipped & well appointed, fantastic fridge/freezer & cooker, private & quiet."

King size bedroom lacked drawer space & double bedroom had nowhere to hang clothes, no chest of drawers & was a "tight fit", 2 people would struggle, luckily only used by 1 adult. The pillows under the covers needed replacing as "well used" & with a 6'3" husband the Duvets were definitely too small for the beds. However, we had a great week, this is a lovely cottage but a few areas just need "tweeking"

  • "Our party was 2 pensioners and 1 adult we thought the pictures were better than the property ."

To enter the back decking there is a big step bigger than we could manage (we purchased a small plastic step )to reach the bottom step to climb to the decking . Two of the bedrooms would be impossible for anyone to vacate the bed on both sides due to the room being too small. The stairs were rather steep and only one hand rail, the parking at the front was not suitable due to traffic passing for further houses in the beyond area . This property should be advertised as not suitable for the less mobile in our opinion .

  • "We enjoyed our stay finding the cottage comfortable and well equipped with a patio, table and seating in a pleasant garden, off the main road but close to the local shop, etc."

and of course with an excellent welcome pack; our only negative comment concerned the main table in the kitchen. I remember before we arrived thinking that the photo of the table in the in the kitchen and the one shown in the living room both looked rather narrow and both against walls. There were only three of us but for a cottage that was equipped to take 6 adults plus some additional children it appeared that everyone sitting round a single table looked impossible. Anyway when we arrived it turned out that apparently the leaves from both tables could and had been inserted in one table making it four leaves wide so definitely wide enough, however it was still against the kitchen wall and immediately behind where people would be seated was the large double cooker flanked either side by the sink with draining board and a preparation area so not ideal for cooking. Worse still was the fact that the relatively narrow gap where people would be sitting was in fact also the “corridor” for getting from the stairs up to bedrooms/bathrooms to the freezer and fridge and the access to the sitting room and hallway. We dropped one leaf down on the wall side of the table which gave us a big enough table and improved access but to get through was still more like a game of musical chairs.

  • "We only live 10 minutes away rented the cottage due to having a new kitchen fitted."

The bus stop to minehead (collage) is literally 1minute walk away so it was perfect for us. The only issues we had was the previous person who was in the cottage blocked the hoover so we had to take it apart to unclog it. That and I personally found the beds uncomfortable (I am disabled) however my partner and the kids found them really comfortable so that is a personal preference thing. The cottage isn't listed accurately, I say that because you get so much more in the cottage than advertised. Im pretty certain the cottagehad more appliances than I do at home haha. It comes with free netflix and prime too. It really is a home from home more than you could ever dream of. What could have made the cottage better... well a hot tub, underfloor heating and maybe a money tree so we never have to leave

  • "Carhampton great for walking."

Nice information in the cottage. Also a few steps from the bus stop with great service to Minehead, Taunton, Watchet and other places. Local shop also close and sells most things you would expect and reasonable prices. Pity local pub was closed at the time of our visit but gives a good reason to go back.

  • "The cottage was exactly as described, in a really good location."

Spotlessly clean when we arrived, and with everything that we needed provided. There was a really nice welcome pack provided by the owner. The information provided by the owner also made us feel very welcome - lots of encouragement to make full use of the facilities and enjoy ourselves, rather than focusing on what we mustn't do, which is sometimes the case.
