  • "We met the owners on arrival who were very nice people and had left a welcoming pack and a cream tea for us to enjoy."

The owners had only purchased the property 1yr ago and we realised they trying to bring it up to scratch. We found several things that needed looking at i.e pointing of tiles in kitchen, doors of on-suite did not close, shower head needed a good clean and black mould around basin and shower tray. The property had the odour of an old second hand store. The area in which the property is situated is very nice and the near by market town of South Molton is good. I believe once the property is bought back to standard we would recommend it.

  • "The owners Mark and Cath were outstanding hosts, very friendly and welcoming."

Nothing was too much trouble for them. It's a perfect location and was a perfect cottage for our needs.

  • "This accommodation does need some improvements."

We realise that the current owners have only been there for a short period and are trying to make these changes. The oven needs updating, it is very hard to regulate the heat and it burnt our first meal after 10 mins when it should have taken 30 mins. The mattress on the double bed really needs renewing it is very uncomfortable with lumpy springs. The lounge area could have done with an extra arm chair, the settee was well worn. The cottage itself was in a perfect position for touring north Devon and if it could be brought up to standard it would be ideal for two adults

  • "The cottage and hosts were excellent!"

However the e-mails about change of ownership were garbled and misleading. For instance "You will receive a notification that a new booking has been made for you in an alternative property. Your booking will still be going ahead at your original property" (this is copied from your e-mail!). Was this saying "a new booking has been made" or "Your booking will still be going ahead . ." This kind of communication is not good enough for us to recommend you as agents!
