    “Mole cottage is lovely in a beautiful setting.”

    Everything we needed for a relaxing break away. The owners were friendly and helpful, the cottage was well equipped and the log fire on the cooler evenings was lovely. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

Mole Cottage and Crooked Oak Cottage are two beautifully presented properties, ideal for couples or small families, a great base in South Molton for exploring coastal Devon. Mole Cottage comprises of a lovely, spacious double bedroom with stunning views of vivacious woodland of Mole Valley and an en-suite shower room, flooded with light via the Velux window. It also occupies an open-plan living area with delightful dining and sitting area featuring a woodburner to keep you extra cosy in winter. Crooked Oak Cottage also has an open-plan sitting and dining area, however the kitchen is separate. The property can sleep up to 6 people, or 8 people plus one child when combined with Mole Cottage. For your convenience, there is an adjoining car-port with washing machine and tumble dryer available with Mole Cottage. Outside there is bike storage and off-road parking, as well as space to sit and enjoy the lovely rural views in the warmer months with outdoor furniture and a BBQ for alfresco dining. Garramarsh Farm also has 800m of private fishing rights on the River Mole, ideal for those fishing enthusiasts. Set in five peaceful acres on Garramarsh Farm, Mole Cottage and Crooked Oak Cottage are located on the fringes of Alswear, a small but friendly hamlet with fantastic countryside views. South Molton is a charming market town with a good variety of amenities including Quince Honey Farm where you can buy locally produced honey from the largest exhibition of honey bees in the world, a twice-weekly market held every Thursday and Saturday morning and if you want a break from cooking, then you’ll find some excellent friendly pubs such as The Castle Inn and the Poltimore Arms. The larger town of Barnstaple, which offers more shops, pubs and restaurants, is 20 minutes from Garramarsh Farm, so you have everything you need within easy reach. Jump in the car and head for Exmoor's stunning National Park with miles of amazing walking, or head to the coast with fabulous beaches like Saunton Sands Woolacombe and Westward Ho! within a 45 drive. If you fancy a more secluded option, Mortehoe Beach near Woolacombe, accessible by foot from the coastal footpath has excellent rock pools that are a favourite with children, so remember to take nets and buckets. Whether you are looking to simply relax and unwind or get out and about exploring Devon's many attractions, these two beautifully presented cottages are perfect for families and friends to appreciate together in the English Riviera.

The attractive market town of South Molton is known as The Gateway to Exmoor and is ideally placed in North Devon, boasting a range of shops, amenities and a twice weekly market. Being pleasantly situated not far from both coastal and inland beauty spots it will suit visitors of all tastes. In close proximity are forests, moors, rivers and coast, with churches and other buildings of historical significance. Residents find the quiet charm of the area attractive and visitors soon experience the sense of civic pride held by the locals. There is superb walking on the South West Coast Path and the North Devon beaches are varied and interesting. Visit the National Trust's Watersmeet Gorge, Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway. Up on Exmoor, there are various walks to suit all abilities, as well as highlights such as Tarr Steps, Landacre Bridge and the village of Withypool. Further afield, the resorts of Ilfracombe and Combe Martin are well worth a visit, and for some of the best beaches in the country, visit Woolacombe and Saunton and Croyde.
